I’ve got a friend coming to stay later .
I’ve made a lasagne and treacle tart from scratch, but bought custard and nice Italian bread to accompany it.
Mary disappeared from the garden whilst I was preparing the food and I eventually found her inside the old coal bunker where she had fallen through the opening.
She never thought to bark.
I’ve shopped again for Trendy Carol and planted out cheerful primulas in pots to brighten up the doorways
It’s a Friday but feels like a Sunday.
There’s a burial in the Churchyard today.
Little news to report except that
I’ve burnt my bum on the toilet again
After over bleaching the seat yesterday.
It’s itchy and sore
I bet you had a few heart stopping minutes whilst you searched for her!! She's a little darling isn't she, she obviously was happy that Dad would find her in the end.
ReplyDeleteStop over-bleaching that seat, it really isn't worth the pain just for a click-bait blog title. ;-)
Apologies to all but full moderation is in progress because of Ursula
DeleteAnd about time, we really do not mind one iota. xx
DeleteYou need to read the instructions more carefully. I'm sure you're leaving it too long when you do that anal bleaching.
ReplyDeleteBoom boom . Xx
DeleteAn itch you don't want to scratch.
ReplyDeleteBut one you really do
DeleteOh dear, poor Mary and poor bum! Remember to rinse off the bleach next time. Enjoy the meal and the company. At least it was your bum and not your friend's! xx
ReplyDeleteGood point x
DeleteClean and tidy is good until it is not good. Here's to healing quickly. Poor Mary, at least she is safe and sound now. Enjoy your dinner with a friend.
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely evening
DeleteWe have primulas in bloom as well -- the same ones as last year, coming back again. Do you use full strength bleach on the toilet? You can mix it with water, you know. :)
ReplyDeleteI know
DeleteYou burn your bum at least once a year. Good to get it out of the way so early on this year. When Elsie was a puppy she got spooked by something in the garden and ran indoors. We eventually found her inside the washing machine.
ReplyDeleteIt happens regularly
DeleteFor Pete's sake, why don't you just use an antibacterial spray on your toilet seat and make sure you RINSE IT OFF! Surely you have those products in Wales!
ReplyDeleteI prefer bleach , it feels clean , so to speak I just forget to wipe sometimes….now only sometimes …which is pretty good given the fact I bleach daily
DeleteWill you never learn? Same goes for Mary by the sound of it.
ReplyDeleteI will indeed never learn
DeleteSo glad you found Mary in a timely manner and hope you can block up that hole she fell through.
ReplyDeleteI agree, after you cleand to toilet seat, rinse whatever you used off! Meanwhile, poor you!
Hope your time wiht your friend is delight.
Hugs!
X cheers babs
DeleteIf you have a septic tank you must be careful not to render it anti-septic with the use of bleach.
ReplyDeleteI don’t xxx
DeleteIt’s all been a bit fraught today
ReplyDeleteHasn’t. It just .
DeleteCeci
Amen girls
DeleteSaying nothing x
ReplyDeleteThat makes a change x
DeleteTypical nurse - overcleaning to the nth degree. At least it is one way to get everything clean. Do you do commissions for lasagne and treacle tart? Hve a lovely evening. I think you have earnt it.
ReplyDeleteYeap sounds right
DeleteYou need to get some fresh air on your booty John for it to heal x🚽🌻
ReplyDeleteIndeed
DeleteOMG.....Remembering that when my girls were little and at pre-school as it was a co-op the parents had to take turns cleaning the classroom, including the bathrooms. I would always spray the toilet seats with bleach because the children would pee all over them. A notice came out that children were going home with red rings on their bums and who ever was cleaning the toilet seats with bleach to stop. Needless to say I did not own up to it!
ReplyDeleteLol…it’s a habit nothing more
DeleteBleaching the toilet seat? Whatever for? Jenny and I have never bleached the toilet seat, and we've lived to tell the tale....
ReplyDeleteIt’s a nurse thing
DeletePoor little Mary, I wonder why she never barked?? Thank goodness you found her in a timely manner. I bleach my toilet seat regularly... but I do remember to wash it off! I have a habit when I clean; I clean one room thoroughly at a time and then I know it is done and if I have to stop for some reason I know where to pick up again. I have never ever in my life eaten a treacle tart... how sad is that...but I intend to make one very shortly; I have a birthday coming up and I think that will do very nicely as part of my birthday tea. Here's to a fantastic meal and yabber with your friend!

Poor little Mary, why did she not bark?? Thank goodness you found her in a timely manner I should imagine your heart was in your mouth for a while there. I use bleach all of the time to clean my loo but I do remember to wash it off! I have a routine when I am cleaning; I thoroughly clean one room at a time so should I have to stop for any reason (such as fed up doing it hahaha) I know where to pick up where I left off. Do you know I have never ever eaten treacle tart in my life! I intend to rectify that very shortly, I am going to make one for my birthday that is coming up I've decided that it will do very nicely. Hope you have a fabulous mean and yabber with your friend.

DeleteSitz bath with warm water and witch hazel.
ReplyDeleteI have no Bath x
DeleteI hope Mary came out all right.
ReplyDeleteShe was fine, my friend Ruth is safely in bed with her as I write this .they always cuddle up
DeleteMaybe set a timer on your watch when you bleach the seat? I set timers sometimes and then wonder what they were for.
ReplyDeleteLove your dinner menu!
A 'sitz bath' is a loo shaped bowl which you place over the loo seat, half fill with warm soapy water, and gently lower your sore bum into! No, I do not know this from personal experience!
ReplyDeleteTakashimaya was a marvel and one of my favorite spots, along with Henri Bendels. I have a couple lovely treasures from them. To my knowledge it still sits empty, sadly.
