Angst

Just before nine Albert caught Roger standing on the kitchen table eating his dinner out of his bowl
The resulting fight has gone down in Trelawnyd History
Suffice to say that  Albert is now sat in front of the fire licking his banjo and
Roger is somewhere under the bed in the spare room

Albert: "Mess with my bowl again and you're dead!" I'm sure Roger will never do it again, poor pup. WI-Dee

Well, that High Noon stand off had been brewing for a while! And we all knew who was going to A) win (Albert) B lose (Roger bless him) and who would have a touch of the vapours C. (John)C
    'Twas ever thus!
Great start for the weekend, Team Trelawnyd!

  7. Oh gosh! Roger wouldn't have known what hit him! Lesson learned, I hope. Don't Mess With The Cat! I hope there's no more damage than missing fur?

  8. Terriers can be very trying - Someone said to me once - "personally I would never have a terrier "! - I thought - how very rude x 🐺 x🦁

  9. Well, a lesson learned. Don't mess with Albert. He may be getting on in years, but he can still defend his dinner bowl! Hope there wasn't too much blood spilt. xx

  10. The question is: Are you ok? How did you separate them?

  11. I would not have thought Roger could get to the top of the table. Hopefully, this is just a lesson learned and required no trip to the Vet. 2 food related incidents in one week is more than anyone needs.

Oh my, John dear... what a picture you're painted with but a few words. Good to hear Albert has retired to the fire and settled for the evening. May this lesson be one poor dim, lovable Roger has well & truly learned, and need not be repeated.

  13. I don't imagine Roger will be doing that again.

  14. My next door neighbour's cat, Panda, went missing recently, but was found several miles away in Hove. Very odd! They have two black cats, Panda and Pigeon. I don't think they fight.

  16. You paint wonderful pictures with the minimum of brush strokes. I'm choking with laughter here. Poor Roger.

Love your economy with words John. Your last post resonated as daughter is now doing a post grad nursing degree and my mum was a nurse for 40 years from 1948. She finished her career as a senior nurse tutor at Westminster hospital via a BEd in her early 40s all the while bringing up three children. She had seven years off for child raising and returned as an operating theatre sister when my younger brother was just 18 months old. As you can imagine it was tough being the daughter of a highly driven woman. Sarah in Sussex x

  26. Hate it when pets fight - physically, rather than just squaring up and hissing at each other. And cats' claws are so lethal, they just don't hold back when unsheathed, going for anything at all. When my Patchie and Sloopy go at it - it's always the former, the eldest of the three and therefore the most 'senior' who lashes out first. I really dread their eyes being injured most of all.

I caught my Border Terrier on my DR table a few times, helping himself to the cat's food. Several "Come to Jesus" discussions later, the dog learned to wait till I was on another floor of the house before getting on the table. I'm sure Albert's lesson will have more of a lasting effect on Roger. Carol - a reader in Philadelphia

Once again your pets were not supervised when there's food around. You don't learn do you?
