New Year

I’ve watered the plants this morning, washed four loads of washing and listened to The Archers Omnibus. I don’t have to leave for work until 1pm.
I wrapped the Beatrix Potter Tales of Peter Rabbit book which was delivered yesterday and I will post it to my great nephew on Tuesday.
I like sending books to children and Peter Rabbit is a good start from Rew’s collection .
I had a lovely New Year’s Eve last night. A lovely meal and a good natter.
I was in bed before midnight, though I heard the fireworks cracking as the Pub led the village celebrations
Dorothy fearful of the noise, burrowed under the duvet like a big fat mole.

  16. I’ve done one load of laundry and need to water the plants. You put me to shame... always. The cats were not thrilled with the fireworks either. I closed a kitchen cabinet less than silently this morning and they both ran out of the room and had to be coaxed back.

"Peter Rabbit" is a wonderful start for Rew and a love of books early on will endlessly rnrich his life.

    "Child of pure unclouded brow
    And dreaming eyes of wonder!
Though time be fleet and I I and thou
    Are half a life asunder,
Thy loving smile will surely hail
The love-gift of a fairy tale." - Lewis Carroll
Wishing you all good things, always.

    Hugs!

  20. I watched "Bell, Book, and Candle" on TV last night, starring Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak, ending just before midnight. When I took my little Chihuahua out, it sounded like a war zone in the surrounding neighborhood. Luckily, he isn't fazed by fireworks or any loud noises like truck traffic when we're out walking. However, a fly in the house completely panics him. Bonne année !

  21. I love buying books for gifts, especially for kids. We spent a quiet night at home also. Heard a few fireworks after midnight, which 3 out of 4 cats, do not appreciate and went and hid. Claire, my black female who looks so much like Albert, always opts to head towards the "danger" to check it out. She's a brave little soul. Blessings for a good year, all around. Ranee (USA)

  32. We were woken at 20 mins after midnight by blasts far and near, then again at 5am behind the house. It used to be that fireworks were lit on the dot of midnight; then that was it.
