Snowed In

It has snowed more heavily overnight and my tiny part of the village has been effectively cut off from the main road, as even small amounts of snow on the incline up to the village proper renders the lane useless until it is gritted.
The cottage is warm though, not toasty but warm ,I stoked up the burner late last night and the silence caused by the muffling of snow is pronounced.
I’m going to make coffee and then plan my essay.
Yesterday I subscribed to Netflix

I have no interest in watching Harry & Meghan spilling their guts out, but I spent a Merry four hours or so watching the delightful Norwegian monster movie Troll and the Spanish zombie movie Malnazidos set during the Spanish civil war.
Both mindless old fashioned fun, in their own rights.

I’m a bit low of food but can get by with raiding the freezer. I have enough dog and cat food already.
Chorizo chipolata sausages with egg and muffin for breakfast.
Hey ho

  1. Oh The Spanish Civil War was indeed "mindless old fashioned fun"! I thought the same about Vietnam.

If you remain stuck with supplies running low, all you have to do is phone SuperTrellis and she will save the day.

  2. That sounds like a hearty breakfast John. Just started snowing again here after only a few flakes overnight. I went out on Thursday to Llandod to top upon Kitten food, milk, eggs etc. but always have a well stocked store cupboard and freezer. Soup is being made. Keep warm and enjoy Netflix. We're rewatching the Witcher.

  4. I love the snow photos! Magical is a word that always comes to my mind to describe a snow day - the light, the softness, and the silence.

I had a patient this week tell me he always eats salad for breakfast - I don't think I'm at that level of 'food disciplined," especially on a day like you're having that always brings out the kid in me and I'm happily eating M&M's (or something similar) all day and not doing a thing - it's what true leisure time ought to be like. I may even do that today. My husband and brother have just left to spend the day in New York City, I'm not sure what I'll do first, but like you, I also have no interest in watching Harry & Meghan spilling their guts out.

I wish Harry and Meghan would just STFU, settle in to their everyday life in SoCal, and live their lives with their 2 kiddos! They are their own worst enemies! They just keep stirring their own shit!
Get stocked up on groceries as soon as you can so you are better prepared for bad weather!

I have to admit that I watched H&M. It is extremely self serving. I do sympathize with the hounding by the press but in all other respects they have it quite good. Eh, I just didn't like the tone of how they speak of the monarchy and Great Britain in general as they sit in their multimillion $ mansion which lets face it, the money came from his family who he now criticizes. They want privacy but are doing g a 6 part series showing details of their life. Pleasse! I think this will backfire on them.

  15. Childhood spent in an ancient farmhouse at the end of a half-mile private lane taught me to stock up on supplies. We did not, however, have indoor cats so bags of litter were not included. So it happened that when I was snowed in with my clowder, they found their boxes refilled with $$ potting soil. Trauma all 'round..but perhaps Albert would experiment?

I love a good snow day. Cocoa and movies is the ticket. I'm currently watching Netflix's Grace and Frankie for the second time. It's very funny (but I'm closer to their age range than you are, so maybe that's why I enjoy it).

Isn't it nice that we can stay in and watch all of the good movies we want.

I wish Harry and Meghan would just bag it and find something worthwhile other than seeking attention all of the time and whining about how badly they have been treated. My goodness, this is not the time, to be hearing their whining about how tough they've had it.
There are so many people surviving on so little, and here they sit, poor pitiful Harry and Meghan blathering about themselves. Poor things. Not.

Forgive my bad attitude, but l will blather about having two molars, one on each side break off a big piece, and now I will have the pain and expense of dental surgery X 2 next week. Maybe I should try for a TV interview about it, like Harry and Meghan.

Can you walk somewhere for food? There isn t even enough snow to cover the grass in your pics, lol. Do you have power failures often? Be sure to charge phone and other devices, get batteries and solar lanterns!

John, I’m from Minnesota, and that looks to me like good weather to walk from Dyserth to Prestatyn. “Snowed in” to me is more than 10” of snow—unless you get your snowshoes out. But we also have city and county plowing and sanding. I also live in a complex where I don’t have to do all my own snow shoveling. And I have central heating—couldn’t live here without it. Cheers!
