I enjoy listening to her talk through online recipes
I forgot to help out with other volunteers to clear the garden of the a memorial Hall 😥
I made chilli con carne, with sticky white rice as my mother used to do, and in a nostalgic rush organised the rice into a ring to encircle the meat.
I ate it with chopsticks in front of the fire watching the British Social Realism film Woman in a Dressing gown in longjohns and my third best Walking Dead T shirt but the film depressed me so I turned on a recorded Only Connect instead after listening to The Archers
I’m bored today .
I feel as though everything feels rather anticlimactic, which is strange.
As little of note happened in the week.
I showered the Welsh terriers and cleaned their ears properly . I do this as I have a shower with them , which sounds odd but it works .
Dorothy watched the action with her face pressed against the shower door
She’s recovered from yesterday’s Bonfire night fireworks, where she spent the evening trembling behind the Trendy Blue Sofa covered in a blanket .
Lots of italics today …..lovely
Chili is a family favourite. When our sons were little, they liked it with pasta. Are you a ground beef (mince) or stewing steak Chili maker? Did not enjoy Turkey Chili at all when a friend made it.
ReplyDeleteI think our expectations of food go back to the first time we tried and enjoyed something.
Another week ahead, got to go sort out uniforms for it.
Ground beef
DeleteShowering with Welsh Terriers with a Bulldog bitch voyeur at the window... an event only seen in Trelawnyd, I expect. I suppose requesting a video would be going too far? Oh and how's Albert, by the way? Any happier? Poor old boy.
ReplyDeleteHis leg is troubling him and he’s reluctant to go out in wet weather ,getting older has meant a few accidents around the cottage .
ReplyDeleteToday I cooked him some frozen chicken for supper
Good news about the chicken dinner for him at least. Well done Cat Servant
DeleteI set him up with a hot water bottle wrapped in a pillowcase at night
DeleteFireworks are the worst, and living in an area with many cultures who celebrate with fireworks they seem to happen a lot. Got a dog anti-anxiety med from the vet - you put it on the gums and the trembling stops in a few minutes. Our dog actually asks for it when the fireworks, or thunder, starts. Perhaps this is available where you are?
ReplyDeletececi
Goodness, I would love this med for Agatha. Rain Thunder and Lighting is so bad for her. She gets three different drugs to help. With monsoons lasting 3 months it is a race to figure out what time to give her the pills. I have 2 different covered crates for her to rest in. I am looking into some soundproofing to wrap them in.
DeleteI heard that Aldi were selling silent fireworks this year. I hope they catch on, for the sake of the animals.
ReplyDeleteVelveeta cheese is "two molecules away from being a plastic trash bag" HAHAHAHAHA! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy world - I haven't visited here in a couple weeks and today I pop in and see a reference to "Omaha Cat Lady". I live in Omaha and I'd never heard of her so I had to Google and found an article in the local paper about her. It makes me laugh to hard that I learned about someone in my own city from a blog halfway across the world!
ReplyDeleteWhat? You only get fireworks on Bonfire Night? Here they seem to go on for weeks. Even with the cost of living crisis, people still seem to have money to burn, literally! xx
ReplyDeleteYou need a new hobby! Crochet? Origami? Building model ships? Training for Iron Man Marathon? Maybe a good book, a crime thriller? ///Don t forget my photo of Janet's garden cleanup results! ///Chopsticks for chili is---odd.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is for Anon who criticised your typing and punctuation,: I have had the thought that when the book is completed, John will need a good copy editor to fix the mechanics--but then if that was done, it would not be John's ''voice"....
lizzy
x
Dog checks take a while each evening -my lily's skin inspection at least 45 mins - Yesterday T the terrier was found to have a unidentified black possibly dead mite attached inside his tight little ear - Still a bit pink after a spray with leucillin - now trying cider vinegar before vets x
ReplyDeletePoor pooch. Dogs on this side of the pond don't like fireworks either.
ReplyDeleteA quiet day once in a while is good. Washing the dogs and making chili sounds like you accomplished a good amount of tasks.
ReplyDeleteOur dogs went under the bed when there were firsworks in the area.
ReplyDeleteWe love chili but since we cannot have beet (Lone Star tick bites), we make it with chorizo pork sausage. yum! We also like Frito pie.
Hugs!
It doesn't seem to take long in your corner of the world for something exciting to happen!
ReplyDeleteVery few fireworks down here, but I believe that Lewes went ahead as usual. Too much rain.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I've told you before that only children get bored and adults never should!
ReplyDeleteI love that lady who watches the recipes ....... she comes out with some wonderful commentary doesn't she John ? She never fails to make me laugh. We seem to have fireworks going off all year here ..... I'm sure someone must work at a firework factory. This weekend didn't seem too bad. I think Guy Fawkes night is being taken over by Halloween now. XXXX
ReplyDelete"I'm a bit bored today" is what the woodworm infested antique dresser said to the table.
ReplyDeleteThe Mac and Cheese concoction looks lethal
ReplyDeleteI do love a good italic ... it's a shame we can't do them in the comments!!
ReplyDeleteRice used to always be in a ring around the curry or chilli didn't it, now it's fashionable to have at the side, or if you can be bothered moulded by a bowl like a sandcastle. It really doesn't matter which way I do it I stir it all together as soon as I sit down anyway.
Sundays are meant to be boring. It's a day of rest.
ReplyDeleteI think it is the change of the season and the upcoming holidays that getting us feeling like this.
ReplyDeleteI love it that your Walking Dead t-shirts have levels of bestness.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
