It’s a day for celebration, family celebration.
Nephew Pete, My sister Ann, Brother in law Tim and nephew Chris
My sister Ann’s husband Tim is in Windsor Castle with the family as I type this. Princess Anne will be awarding him his MBE today for services to the local business community.
Several years ago Ann was awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to the community
It’s lovely to have some good news
Wow, an MBE and an Heir to the Gray Family Dynasty all in one day! Congrats to everyone!

DeleteAn outmoded tradition, Royal honours,
ReplyDeleteTypical of you to showing off about them
Shallow
John's not showing off at all, he's proud of his family and so he should be. Maybe if you got off your arse and did something worthwhile to help other people then you'd have something to feel proud about.
DeleteNo. How shallow of, you, Anonymous, to make such a snide little dig. Wonder if you would or could have done that if you had to give your name? Good job the world has more people in it like the Grays rather than people like you. Go and moan at someone who deserves it and stop demonstrating what a sad piece of work you are here, where we are all friends and smiling at the world on the same page of live and let live and grin and bear it. Onwards, Team Gray!
DeleteI do agree that most honours are outmoded - especially those awarded by outgoing PMs. In my opinion, there is, however, a place for honours that recognize those who do good.
DeleteIdiot!
DeleteAnon
DeleteSigh again
And why shouldn’t I show off about two people who have worked tirelessly to make their community a better place?
How good is showing off?
Hazel!!!!
DeleteGo get em xx
Yliz,
DeleteThe snide and the tiresome
Bedfellows of many blogs ….
I’m happy today at the good news
Water off a ducks back xx
Traveller
DeleteI agree with you when it comes to favours being brought in for a bong
But to the ordinary and talented who do special things .
I think the awards are lovely

Twat is a better word
DeleteHow sweet that they chose to name the baby Andrew. It's a good name anyway. By the way, when will you be getting your M.B.E. for services to blogging? I reckon you'd want yours from Prince Harry.
ReplyDeleteSophie
DeleteCongrats all round then!
ReplyDeleteLovely news! :-)
ReplyDelete🥰👍🌈
DeleteGood news is always so welcome - and especially in gloomy November somehow
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
Yes ,and both on the same day
DeleteWonderful family news. Congratulations all around. Sure your brother is in everyone’s thoughts, bringing a smile to your faces, as it should. Needed good news today and you delivered once again!
ReplyDeleteHe only seems to bring his brother up for a sympathy vote
DeleteAnonymous, please go away until you find where you left your kindness. It is sorely missing.
DeleteAgree 100% with you, Barbara Anne.
DeleteThis particular Anonymous seems more of an attention-seeker than anything else.
Anon,
DeleteI seldom mention my brother which scuppers your idea that I’m using him as a sympathy vote.
I mention his death as not everyone will know my family history
I think it’s lovely that the baby has my brother’s name..he lives a little longer
DeleteCongrats to the family on all the good news.
ReplyDeleteCheers pixie x
