Getting Going

Some days I feel brave and positive and full of bounce.
Like one of those girls of roller skates you see on transatlantic tampon adverts
I can do this life thing and grab it by the balls.
I am that assertive twat that asked the neighbours to keep their yappy dogs quiet
And I almost brought in the cheap shoe gag when coping with a strangely irate woman in Jackson’s Nurseries who belittled the cashier over the price of cushion.

Today I don’t really feel brave and positive and bouncy.
I feel lumpy and old and I can’t get my head around Google classroom as quick as I’d like.
I want someone to make me soup and rub my hair with cold fingers
And I want to be told it will be alright
Which of course , it will be.
I’m a bit tired, me thinks …and my bladder is playing up today
Dorothy and I are going to sneak under the eiderdown shortly and have 40 winks

Hey ho

  1. Self soothing just isn't as much fun as having someone else do it no matter how old we get.

A nap is a good start, but please start drinking water, tea, or soup and taking whatever meds you have to start treating that possible UTI.
Perhaps put something yummy in the slow cooker as that's nearly like having someone cook for you.
    Wising you well.

    Hugs!

Don't beat yourself up because you can't navigate Google Classroom. That's a stupid, poorly organized program that I couldn't use either. I can't understand why it's so popular.

      Because it's free

  4. It's okay...Google Classroom is not designed for ease-of-use; nothing about it is intuitive. It takes time to figure out. I found the Youtube tutorial helpful. Take care and stay well.

  5. Take a virtual hair stroke from me. It's tiring looking after yourself when you're not 100%. Go with what your body tells you - if you need 40 (or more) winks, grab them. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you and Google classroom (never heard of it, BTW) starts to behave itself. xx

  7. If your weather is anything like ours, I completely understand your instinct to hibernate with the dog!

  8. This is none of my business, but why do you get so many bladder infections? I imagine that's dragging you down without even realizing it.

Some days are like this. Sending hugs John. It's not the same as having your hair rubbed with cold fingers though.

UTI! Some folks are more prone to getting them because their plumbing or pH is a bit different. A bother for sure.

  9. It takes a lot of energy to be brave, positive and full of bounce, even the best of us struggles with that at times.

Hope you enjoyed the nap. xx

Why don't you report the neighbour's dogs to the Council, it's what mine did to me without saying a word.

I also use that mantra - “nothing lasts, good or bad”
      Seems to help.

Jon, I love your blog. You say it like it really is. I live on my own too - widowed and living with an elderly dog and tortoise - but like you I just get on with it. No other option! And I heartily agree how nice it would be to have somebody else to make the occasional cup of tea, run fingers through hair etc., Some days are pure **ite especially when feeling ill and/or tired. Take care, put your feet up and tomorrow will be better I hope.

  14. Maybe going part time and having more free days [now that all your travels are finished for awhile?] means at times you will feel aimless or down until you adjust. Sorry you feel ill, was hoping you'd got the UT issues sorted w specialist earlier this month.
