People Day

It’s a kind of I’m fed up of people day today

Someone I like and respect has taken something I’ve said in such the wrong way I’ve been rendered practically speechless.
Of course I’m not speechless and I’ve replied with candour and surprise and have apologised even though I am 100% sure it’s a case of over sensitivity and misinterpretation .
I remain vaguely insulted by the whole situation.

My ghoster eventually replied too, with the sentence I just feel there is nothing on my side. He also asked if we could keep in touch. I’ve told him no but I wished him well.

Both situations have left a bad taste in my mouth.

I’ve just been out walking Roger too and got shouted at by a man on a bike who felt I was in his way
I was but Roger was too frightened to move

  1. A day for staying at home with the unconditional love of animals, methinks, and sod all human contact! xx

  2. Well, that's the three things over and done with John, things can only get better now (hopefully). Some people are so oversensitive they take umbrage over entirely innocent statements, leaving us a bit dumbfounded and feeling wrong-footed. Oh, and by the way, my name's not Snooze, it's Sooze - don't worry, I'm not taking offence, you're not the first - nor will you be the last - to call me that haha ;-) xx

Well, there's the charm of three sorted and done wigh. You do what you can. Sounds to me as if the h intended offence taken is more to do with things going on in that person 's head rather than out of your mouth. That the booster wants life all ways, but mainly his (ghosts you but then wants to stay in touch? Live is too short and already complicated enough) and as for the bloke on the bike....well, that's what they do. Think water and ducks backs and move on. X

  5. I hate it when that happens. I once had someone miss hear what I said. When I finally heard how mad he was, I was devastated, crying, etc. We cleared it up but I always felt it hanging over us .
Good days, bad days...they eventually even out.

  6. People seem to have forgotten their ability to be polite. It is a shame disagreements can result in such harsh consequences sometimes.

  8. I'm sorry someone has said what they did John - I've had this quite a lot - When it's been from a troublemaker it's bad enough but when it was someone I trusted was kindly it hurts deeply - I wonder if one of those leads that say Dog in training would help people be more thoughtful x

  9. Sometimes, people can be disappointing. Dismiss them and move on. You have better things to do. That's how I roll and it works well for me...might work for you too. There are lots of fish in the pond and you can be selective. Hold that thought and make it a good day.

  10. Too much going on in the world, high anxiety everywhere, causing people to unconsciously tilt and act out. Wake me when it's over.

  11. So sorry to read that your day was spoiled through no fault of your own. Sometimes it isn't easy to just 'get over' such things and the hurt settles deep inside. Have a gentle (((((((HUG))))))) and concentrate on beautiful things as you sit in your lovely garden and listen to the bees and birdies. - Rosemary x

  12. I tend to piss people off too. I understand that it's not usually about me, or just about me, but I take it personally. I had a day like that yesterday too. Sending hugs John.

  13. Ugh. People.
But you know what? It may be their problem. I've also said some things and people are left huffing and puffing. Well, dear....
And as for the ghoster? Unforgivable. I can't.
    *hugs*

    XOXO

There are days when the somewhat crass phrase ' I'm alright, it's everyone else ' fits the bill exactly.
Poor Roger, what an idiot on the bike.

Be a duck today John and let it all roll over your head. You know in your gut the right and wrong of the situations. Ignore them. All the best with Roger. Your dogs and Albert are lucky to have you x

  17. Let's face it, at least 25% of Joe Public are idiots!
Some days you get through and only encounter the rest of the population, but on other days, well, it's 'idiot's day out'!!!
Today, we had a 'nice, sensible, friendly people' morning, but this afternoon was just one feckin' nutjob after another!
Sitting down with my feet up and a bucket of coffee is calming me down nicely though! X

I like the tee shirt idea Margaret had. Perhaps it's time to circle the wagons and let the world go by as you, Albert, Mary, Dorothy, and Roger enjoy yoursselves in the house and in the garden.

    Hugs!

  21. It’s okay to have days like this. Curl up with the kids and soak in the unconditional love 💗. And treat yourself kindly today knowing that there are plenty out here who wish you nothing but good things and value you as you are.

  23. This sort of thing always makes me realise l am right in my choice of animals over people anyday. As for the (probably) Lycra Wanker Cyclist, l have no repeatable words, good job l wasn't there to chase him down, is all l want to add. How dare he frighten Roger, give him a big kiss from his unknown Auntie Tess x

  24. The Tshirt sounds a great idea. So sorry, I suspect many of us get days like that. Hugs to you and the animals; Roger sounds to have been an excellent choice. Jxx

  25. I am sorry for the annoying human contact today! The blog seems fairly benign lately so I am guessing it was RL encounters. The bike guy tho! Poor Roger. Surely pedestrians have right of way? Mo and I had a terrible encounter during lockdown, with a speeding car who turned into a parking lot we were crossing in a crosswalk lane--- they never saw us, they never slowed down, I hauled Mo out of its path by his harness. Pugs never move fast unless they are escaping to freedom---the car missed us by inches. I am still traumatized and have rearranged our walks to avoid the area.

I know Roger will learn from your confident demeanor tho.

Love your blog John, makes me smile and keeps me happy. Too many people being over sensitive these days, mental health labels put on youngsters when they could help themselves by not constantly looking at screens. As an aside Chris Evans recently gave words of wisdom we should all ask ourselves when reaching for a phone. Ask yourself Why now? What for? What else?
I know my what else would be looking at the world (tis still wondrous) all around.
Roger is a welcome addition to your house and blog!
    Keep going!

  28. Animals are so much easier! I do think people have been more on edge since the pandemic got dug in. The stress has been there for too long now, and added to that is the division in thinking that has surfaced over how to handle it. It seems to have changed the world. Maybe I'm only more aware of it than I used to be.

I genuinely think a t-shirt about Roger is a waste of time, people who think an adorable puppy is in the way are way too self obsessed to be reading a shirt

Hubby I live in an area with a lot of shared walking and cycle trails, and have decided a plural of cyclists is a smug. They are quick enough to accuse car drivers of endangering them while also apparently feeling all walkers must leap out of their way at the 1st ding of a bell, or no bell and pure ESP! I guess a bell isn't manly enough, though apparently the lycra is!

    3. I call them Lycrists. Round here, they refuse to use the cycle lanes and ride, often 2 or 3 abreast causing chaos. I like cycling, but not in Lycra (perish the thought) and not aggressively, before anyone jumps down my throat! xx

No need for the man on the bike to shout.. I am ashamed of him, as a cyclist myself. A dog will always stand broadside on. However small the dog. In order to protect you!
