Another Bank Holiday

The street party in the village takes place tomorrow and already the bunting is in place. One of streets near the memorial hall will be closed and already one curmudgeon has voiced concerns about safety on social media ….apparently there is no “ Escape Route “ for people in case of emergency .
I commended wryly that I hadn’t noticed that we were suffering from a zombie invasion apocalypse so questioned why an escape route was needed.
Affable Despot Jason thought it was funny.
I’ve just seen him, his bunting is out and is in LGBTQ colours rather than the traditional red, white and blue

I slept in until well. After midday
And drove to Marks & Spencer’s to top up with nice food.
I had coffee with my sister and brother in law and then my sister in law
And will stay the rest of the day at home.

    1. I wouldn’t say it was big . I’m not quite sure what to expect really

  2. Unfortunately in this country, which is awash in guns, one needs to plan an escape route just to go to the grocery store. America: where all you ever need is half a flag pole.

I have been enjoying, however, all the festivities going on in your country. I think the queen looks fabulous for her age.

    1. I hadn’t thought of that, gawd it must be exhausting honestly looking for an escape route in reality , I hadn’t thought of American and the gun laws…..even more relevant what with the Texas massacre just days ago

Another snippet of village life wrapped up, in a few colourful sentences.
I love the way you speak of your friend Jason and your family with so much affection.
You have an ability to make even the most mundane of days rather interesting and at times incredibly moving.

I hope Ursula eventually stops her mixing.
And I hope your friendship with the somewhat curt Rachel is rekindled

    2. Not to make light of anyones experiences but after th e Christchurch mosque killing here in NZ and the Ariande Grande concert bombing my daughter who was about 25 at the time was going to a concert and the first thing she said to me once she told me she was going was she already had an escape route (plan)... I was shocked that it was even a thing.

  13. UK festivities are impressive. Everyone joins in and the community efforts (small and large) are filled with joy and pride. I'm enjoying it all from afar. HM looks fantastic.

  14. Our street in Brighton is having a rather discreet affair in the communal private garden. The street where my other house is, is having a more grand public affair as befits its status. I am hoping that my eldest will attend both parties (as our representatives).

  15. I've had to give my sister instructions regarding staring, and don't mention republicans, and yesterday when I took her to lunch the old man at the table near us had a gun in his back pocket.
I wish we had something to celebrate.
