Looking on the bright side of getting covid- maybe it's beneficial for your health-(as in Bach)you build up antibodies within-my cousin has special blood and since he had covid he has super antibodies luckily -it's so good the Doctor asked him for lots x
You've been lucky to dodge the C-bullet thus far, considering you're in a high risk occupation. At least you've caught it at its mildest. Even so, a good reason to take care of yourself. Will it affect the bathroom renovation, or will it just be a case of keeping out of CBM's way? xx
I am so sorry to hear this. I believe in prayer and you are now in mine. I look forward to reading your words every day. You shared that this blog is like a journal for you, but by sharing yourself so generously, I feel that we are good friends. Please get well, dear friend.
No, John. This is Kathy - not Kath. I am Kathleen Grissom from Virginia. I'm a writer. You can google me and find out more than you need to know. I'm a fan of yours and you will only see complimentary posts from me. :)
I think that most of us have had it, whether we knew it or not. I regularly donated blood during 2020 and 2021, (O positive and they were begging me to donate) and at that time, they tested for Covid antibodies. (They no longer do this) December of 2019, I was sicker than sick, with all the Covid symptoms. However, my donated blood never showed any antibodies. So, who knows? Now you can stay home a bit longer, and manage the bath remodel!!!
Thought about Paxlovid as a precautionary measure against 'long covid'? I thought I had it a few days ago, symptoms of the mother of all colds, but fast-response tests were negative on two successive days. If I had tested positive I would have found some, because of my other risks. Hope you recover just fine, my friend.
There's a lot of it about !!! Hope it's just mild for you.I caught it at the beginning of April, throat and cough mainly, but quite bad - I was having trouble breathing, my throat was so swollen. That lasted about two weeks, but the cough went on for weeks, still not gone totally.. Steam helped - your new shower will be useful!
May your case be mild and recovery hasty! Also have to add that your last post *a cool pillow* was beautiful. I wish I had been more *creative* when Hospicing my Mom 6 years ago.....but I learned much from our Hospice support, and learn from your compassion always. Susan M
same thing happened to me John! I cried when i was vaccinated and I cried harder when the test came back positive. What a kick in the pants! Thankfully I did not spread it to my family and it was mild - hope the same for you!
Please take good care of yourself, mild symptoms or not, your body needs rest to heal itself. I enjoy your blog everyday. I've even been known to share it with friends after a quick copy & paste into an e-mail.
Oh B%**er!! I hope you get off with a light dose. It's running through a friend's family at present... a new person goes down every three days, which drags the whole process out interminably! Fluid, rest, sympathy...
Even with few symptoms it may be best to rest and hydrate more than usual if you can. At least the bathroom is still being done. Hope you are better soon.
Echoing everyone else... hope you continue to have a mild dose and don't get worse. Keep drinking water. Yay for the CBM continuing to upgrade your bathroom.
Anyone with other health issues should should still take care. My husband has had a kidney transplant .He has been in hospital on oxygen , in an oxygen tent as well. Home now but still quite weak. Its not mild for some people.
We both got it in March …. I was just shivery and achey for a day and Chris just coughed a few times ! Not even as bad as a cold. I think I felt a bit tired for a few days but, I could have just been tired ! I think we blame every thing we have on Covid now ? You’ve done well to have avoided it for so long. I felt a bit of a failure when I got it which is ridiculous …hopefully, we now have lots of lovely antibodies . XXXX
Oh, what a bummer! - especially considering that there are so many more 'deserving' subjects around to be host. Trust you'll be able to shimmy it off quick-ish.
Happened to me too in February. Had 3 near misses in general practice, one last Christmas with son who breathed over me day before he tested positive. Been retired a year and the bastard catches up with me. GET WELL SOON
Oh No!! Hope it's mild and you recover quickly! Take care of yourself.

DeleteKathleen ... I have read your "The Kitchen House" and another one that was prior to that one, but can't recall the title! I really enjoyed them!

I thought I had it back in 2019
DeleteIt's been working it's way through my ward. No rhyme or reason who gets away mildly. One of my coworkers is on her third case.
ReplyDeleteDecember 2019 I had something that had all the now known symptoms
March 2022, four negative tests and every symptom in the book. Two weeks of the worst flu ever.
Get well and have a hot toddy tonight.
Bother! May your symptoms remain nearly nothing so you can enjoy staying away from work. Hoppe the LBM can complete the loo work tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHugs - Barbara Anne
Well then. Time for a little rest and relaxation!
ReplyDeleteNot quite I was worried the CBM won’t come
DeleteBugger! Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope your symptoms remain mild and that your only side effect is some well deserved r and r.

ReplyDeleteI might have been positive when my wife had it but Moderna made me symptom free
ReplyDeleteBeing symptom free, enjoy the days at home.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I do hope it doesn't drag you down too much. I'm amazed I haven't succumbed; but there's still time.
