Right now I have a train whistle (the real deal) hooked up to an air compressor and going full bore in the livingroom, drowning out the news on the television. I envy you and that silence.
Whoever said "Silence is golden" knew what they were talking about!! When I worked as a RN, I had a cell phone, 2 beepers, and a Code call beeper attached to me for 12-14hrs..now, as a retired lady, I have no cell phone, just a landline, one 12 yr. old laptop and nothing else ..I never wear a watch anymore (took it off the day I retired)..my life is quite peaceful now, thank goodness..I am thankful for every quiet peaceful moment!! Life without set schedules is so lovely!!
