It’s been a day of two halves .
The dawn chorus
Then The Play That Went Wrong at Theatr Clwyd.
Both enjoyable for completely different reasons .
I said to my sister Janet, on the way home tonight , that in this my 60th year
I’m going to do all the things I’ve never done before as well as all of the things I like to do too
If that makes sense .
Still on my bucket list for this year
Go camping in a tent
Go to a European city mini break with my old girlfriend Jane,
Driving through Ireland to Nu’s cottage,
A holiday break abroad totally alone,
Dance in public
Start my counselling course
Learn a totally new skill
Walk up Snowdon
I’ve booked five already…..
Hey ho
Knowing you from your blog I'm sure you'll do them all. If youve got five booked already then that's over half way done. When I was in my teens I managed walking half way up Snowdon, but that at the time was for fun and not the challenge.
ReplyDeleteDancing on the village green you could do today
ReplyDeleteI’ve got that planned with a certain someone
DeleteLOL, one of your manic planning sessions! But you do so much, so just have fun. I think you'll rally hae camping in a tent, good luck.
ReplyDeleteI am stuck a few posts back..in the US a tank top is a sleazy undershirt usually made of crappy ribbed cotton, also called a wifebeater...maybe in the UK it means a handmade [fair isle?] knitted sweater vest? Pls explain?
A tank top in the uk is a knitted top popular in the 1930s and 1940s

Deletetypo original comment,"you'll really hate camping...etc"
DeleteTank tops were an essential part of 1970s British fashion Lizzy. There are many jokes about them.
DeleteThat seems like a very doable bucket list for this year!
ReplyDeleteWe all need a doable bucket
DeleteCamping can be interesting-I hope you find somewhere scenic to erect your Tent x
ReplyDeleteOh lord
Deletesorry-flis x
DeleteI love camping, pitching a tent before it gets dark, arranging who sleeps where and cooking on a butane gas coooker is right up my alley! But these days; also in my early 60's I would need an inflatable bed or some such to lie on. No more lumpy ground and sleeping bag for me; I would never get off the floor.
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland
Or you could go glamping? My Dad travelled alone all over Europe in his sixties. Budapest ended up being his favourite city
ReplyDeleteWhen you dance in public - make sure that it is not in a public lavatory as you might be arrested - especially if you are wearing a leotard and ballet shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou are inspiring.
ReplyDeleteInteresting list and would you mind telling us which 5 are booked? Ta! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Barbara Anne
You seem to be doing a lot. I have just one trip planned for 2022.... and that's it!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good Bucket List and I'm betting on you to get them all accomplished!
ReplyDeletePlease take lots of photos of your trip to Nu's cottage. We travelled across Ireland a few years ago, and the undulating landscape, and difference between roading standards (varying from EU funded sections, and the bogs of Irish roads!) amazed us. We went from Dublin to Kerry, and it was so spectacularly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy idea of camping is a nice hotel, with A/C and a bathroom. Many restaurants to chose from. You can go out during the day for the nature walks and sights, without bug bites and heat rashes. Now, that makes for a good vacation!
ReplyDeleteThe two breaks abroad should be great!
ReplyDeleteCamping in a tent was, for me anyway, either magical or dismal depending on so many things, especially weather and facilities, but a good thing to experience anyway.
You're doing well to have arranged five already and they should be fun to do.
Five booked already, you'll have to write a new bucket list again soon! Good on you. Enjoy them all. xx
ReplyDeleteI walked up Snowdon back in 1958…..definitely wouldn’t be able to do it now! Will you take the train back down?
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I spent a week camping in a tent in Cornwall. Never, ever again. You need to think that one through - sleeping on the ground, up and out in the night to visit the loos, falling over guy ropes in the dark. I'd go glamping, teepee style instead.
ReplyDeleteThat should have read a month camping. A month! It rained a lot.
DeleteI was staying in a caravan on a site once and after an evening dancing in the clubhouse as I wandered back in the dark I tripped and fell onto a small tent-someone crawled out-Very embarrassing x
ReplyDeleteOf course you have a mind blowing experience to relate, as always. You do seem to have a very vivid imagination.
DeleteThere is more to the story but I'm sure you would just poo poo it x
DeleteThat's a lot of bucket list for just one year!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger a was in c caravan and got up at 6am to go to the toilet block. I was wondering what was kept in a storage cupboard so decided to have a look. A man was standing upright against the hot water tank. I ran for dear life
ReplyDeleteAt 60, just go for it! Why not combine two of those and go camping in Snowdonia? However, if you plan on walking up Snowdon itself (tbh the national park has much more interesting mountains, with more 'mindful' experiences) go early in the morning as it can be like a motorway with so many making their way up.
ReplyDeleteThey all sound quite doable - I am sure you will get the list completed,
ReplyDeleteI recommend dancing in st marks square in Venice. And I also recommend d going camping with somone experienced. You will love ❤️ t I am sure
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty hefty list. I didn't make one this year. Perhaps when the weather actually gets warmer.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun and I will enjoy reading all about your adventures!
ReplyDeleteEverything sounds very doable.
ReplyDeleteMake sure you go camping with some one that knows what there doing or to a sight with it's own erected tents.
ReplyDeletePick a time when rain is not forecast and keep a complete change of decent clothes in the car, for when you get rained out . . .
Pitch your tent in the garden tonight, then that's one to be ticked off in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI'd give Snowdonia a miss, it's too hectic these days, no pleasure amongst the hordes.
Tent camping can be fun or dismal. Part of it depends on the gear you have, part on the weather you have, and most importantly, your mindset. I do not like tenting in the rain, but if I am at an event where it's tenting in the rain or sleeping in the rain or sleeping in the car to avoid the rain, i either sleep in the tent or in the car.
ReplyDeleteI have, on one occasion, slept under a picnic table, which was all right as it kept me fairly dry. And on one occasion, we were camping in the wilderness so it was the tent or nothing. I was glad for the tent.
I don't know that you want your tent experience to be your holiday alone experience where you can also dance in public.
My list is very much shorter and far more pragmatic. Maybe i need to add more fun things to keep me from becoming a drudge.
Maybe join a flash mob. That would get your dancing in public done! Not sure if they have flash mobs in Wales, though.

DeleteI do my camping in a 32 foot motor home with a bathroom and t.v. Drove to Alaska from New Jersey. 16,000 miles and 3 months. Never thought I would be able to have an opportunity like that!
ReplyDeleteI am not anonymous but I couldn’t get the computer to cooperate. I am Ruth S.
