I never thought I’d ever buy another rubber chicken after Winifred’s object of affection was framed after her graceful death.
But today, when I was buying dog food from Aldi ( the only supermarket that doesn’t have a shortage )
I bought Mary her own rubber chicken which squeaks like teenage girl when squeezed
All day she has been guarding it, playing with it, squeezing it, squeaking it and……. watching it
I’m rebirthing a monster
No you are not. You are giving her, her own baby. Our Missy (Jack Russell has several ducks all different but all have a squeak, most important. Terry the Turkey which looks nothing like a Turkey to my mind, Freddie the Fox. All are regularly played with and the hell knocked out of but all join her in her basket before bed. There are several balls in different incarnations as well. Its lovely seeing them play and go all silly xx
ReplyDeleteLol love this
DeleteYou are such a goood dad.
ReplyDeleteI would be
DeleteIf she drives you nuts with that thing, it's your own damn fault, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI’m not complaining
DeleteYou have given her much love AND a squeaky rubber chicken. What more could a dog want? I hope there won't be any squabbles - will Dorothy get jealous? xx
ReplyDeleteShe’s
DeleteNot happy , nor is Albert
I too have a large rubber chicken John that pulls at my heart-belonging to my top dog-it was protected with an old pillowcase or cotton bag as he had the knashers of a lion and could bite a huge chunk of car seat upholstery in moments-Today it hangs from a brass coat hook in the hallway which I squeak 3 times each evening in case he's listening x
ReplyDeleteWinnie’s is framed in my bedroom
DeleteThings go weird on Going Gently …rubber poultry !
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a blog only followed by mentally ill menopausal women and few sad gays

ReplyDeleteSweet! Do you think Mary is waiting for Winnie to appear?
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Toys!
ReplyDeleteOh what a heavenly toy, the anguished squeaking. Bounce's cherished toy is a soft birthday cake that plays happy birthday when squeezed.
ReplyDeleteLily has a pink flamingo.
ReplyDeleteTher's nothing like the joy of a dog with a toy (except of course when the toy needs protecting) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWe have a new PINK OCTOPUS that is very fun for iwinston !
ReplyDeleteI love to see an animal with a favorite toy. It is pure joy and fun!
ReplyDeleteEvery home needs a Rubber Chicken; dogs or not.
ReplyDeleteReturn of the Chicken - Part 2
ReplyDeleteWe had rubber chicken for dinner last night! (Not really, it was very tender and tasty.)
ReplyDeleteMavis loves squeaky toys too, but only if we sit there squeaking them for her, she just doesn't like to play with them. Her only real fun playtime is when we blow on her face, then she rolls around having a great time for a few minutes wanting her tummy tickled.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a teenage boy, I squeezed a lot of teenage girls but they never squeaked. They just breathed more heavily and whispered "Je t'aime!".
ReplyDeleteI think we all get those trolls reading our posts waiting to pounce on our words.
ReplyDeleteIt probably makes you think of Winnie. We are surrounded by the ghosts of loved ones gone on, aren't we?
ReplyDeleteMy daughters put an identical one in my christmas stocking, and I made the mistake of giving it to my son's dog, thinking he'd destroy it. No, he just pokes it and makes is squeak, over and over and over...
ReplyDeleteLol you should have kept it
DeleteOur Dally puppy has that chicken, the anguished squeals as it's thrown around the living room! Second only to a rather lurid pink starfish that appeared recently as a result of a shopping trip to the local pet shop. Pup is in heaven. Glad Mary's having fun. Take care Hils
