What To Do

I’m at a loss of what to do today.
There is nothing interesting at any of the cinemas I usually go to.
Stage wise Oliver Twist is on in Chester’s Storyhouse  but the tickets are a bit too expensive and I’m not enamoured  enough to buy a ticket and drive the fifty mile round trip on such a grotty blustery day.
At Theatr Clwyd I see there are just Welsh kids’ stuff on offer and everything else seems shut.

I’ve walked the dogs, drank coffee and listened to radio 4
I’m going to get in Bluebell and go somewhere
I’ll post the photos later

  2. Sometimes I love the day of having no itinerary. Others, well, I go out of my mind sitting at home.

I can recommend "Fighting with my family" on YouTube movies. Great cast ( Steven Merchant / Nick Frost / Flo Pugh / Vince Vaughn / Lena Headey / The Rock) - a true story and very funny. Oh and feelgood too. Break out the snacks and put your feet up!

    1. Thanks for making me smile with your comment. I couldn't agree more. If you really do have to do something (why?) it doesn't get better than a book. Or going for a walk in the middle of nowhere.

May I add a Blaise Pascal quote, roughly translated: "All man's troubles come from not being able to sit alone in a room doing nothing". Well, dwelling on that should keep John busy for a minute or two.

  5. Any chance you could drive over to Dyserth and climb to the top of Moel Hirradug Fort? It would be nice to see some pictures. You'll need to wear your anorak and maybe your wellies too. It will be such fun!

  6. It is a dilemma, I'll agree. I was hoping to drive out to a beach on the coast, but it's not much fun in the wind and rain. I am sewing. Maybe tomorrow.

    2. Well whadayaknow. Still blustery and the sun has come out. Too late to go to the beach, so I'll make do with a village walk.

  7. We’re going to visit that spectacular nativity scene in our neighborhood. You have 2-1/2 hours to get here.

  8. It's that lost time between Christmas and New Year. Things aren't fully back to normal. Whatever you do, enjoy. Maybe pop into a certain pharmacy? xx

    1. I don't need to be entertained
I need the stimulation of being outside, away from home

  13. I prefer just me and my dogs-I like it like that-I remind myself and someone who will lurk-"the body is an engine and has to move" x

I like the plans you've made for today. I'd be happy to sit and read as my reading time doesn't take place in bed. Put on some music, pick up a book, and have a seat!

    Hugs!

  15. I imagine you walking along the seafront somewhere, getting the sea air and then going into a seafront cafe for fish and chips. Wish you lived nead enough to pop in for a bacon butty.

  17. I love Radio 4 and wish I could get it here in California. It is so typically British. I love hearing it when I travel to Binfield and visit friends... it's just something that settles we down and makes me know I'm where I am most comfortable. Happy New Year John and your kids. Thanks for sharing yourself. Ruth in Oxnard California
