There is nothing more soulless at Christmas than radio music
If I hear Slade again, I shall scream
I’m wrapping gifts and painting awful decorations on my “paper” gifts and have done for most of the morning
Occupational therapy for the mentally bewildered as I prefer to describe it
I’m listen to classic FM which is doable
Merry Christmas Eve
Enjoy Tom Chaplain …all of us will understand the lyrics …” all running on empty”
You mean to say you didn't listen to the Pop Master Champions League Final, the culmination of the whole year's Pop Master and Ken Bruce???! Ken played some good music too.
ReplyDeleteNope
DeleteShame on you. I listened to the whole of Ken Bruce and then switched off. I am now sitting in silence.
DeleteHow is Dorothy these days, I can see her in the photo? Is she less nervous?
DeleteShe s a star when out , friendly and obedient off the lead
DeleteAt home she’s a cross between Joan Rivers and Bubble from Ad fab
God, Dorothy obedient when out, unbelievable. I never watched Ab Fab so don't know Bubble character but I imagine you mean she is a bit of a madam at home.
DeleteI just turn off the radio when the Christmas songs come on just like I do with the news! It is like a fucking yo yo, on off on off on. Happy Christmas ....... I'm going to open the wine. x
DeleteGood for you,
DeleteI’ve just had a long walk with G Dave, resting on the couch then off to see some friends in the village at 7 for an hour
Have fun xxx
DeleteI did , it was lovely , am now waiting to meet my Sheffield friends on zoom x
Deletemerry xmas eve john!

ReplyDeleteLove to you both x
DeleteMerry Christmas Eve to you too, John! xx
ReplyDeleteAnd to you Ellen x
DeleteYes, Merry Christmas Eve and a very Merry Christmas tomorrow! Waiting for the New Year to commence and hoping to God it proves worth waiting for! LOL
ReplyDeleteDorothy looks pretty laid back ... relaxing in the chair! Let's hope the new year can see her outside behavior and her inside behavior conjoin into perfect behavior everywhere!
She’s watching me very carefully
DeletePresents on the table is a change from the norm
She doesn’t do change
Merry Christmas, John. Have a good one. xx
ReplyDeleteYou too andi xx
DeleteIt occurred to me last night driving home, that one of the benefits of having to work such long hours is that I have not heard "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer' one time this season. Hallelujah. Merry Christmas, John!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I don’t know that ditty
DeleteThe personal touch on the gifts - nice!
ReplyDeleteGo to You Tube for the music of your choice, like the King's Chapel choir, perhaps?
A Merry Christmas Eve and Christmas to you, John, all of Trelawnyd, and the whole wide world!
Hugs!
No I will definitely NOT be listening to kings chapel choir
DeleteI don’t want to visit those memories today
DeleteOkay, how about Mannheim Steamroller's 'Christmas is in the Aire'? xx!
DeleteThat will do
DeleteI, too, have departed from Christmas music. Enough already. Listening to Ravel's Bolero is my choice and Alejandro Sanz does a great job with it.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Tom chaplain song very much
DeleteThat'll be you and me screaming at Slade then. Have a peaceful, restful Christmas Eve and Christmas day, to you and everyone. Let's hope 2022 sees the end of you know what! xx
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas John and a really happy New Year from us x
ReplyDeleteWendy (Wales)
Nadolig Llawen deArheart x
DeleteI also love listening music on the radio. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas anon xxx
DeleteI made the mistake of thinking I should start the Christmas present buying, wrapping, decorating and music listening in early December. Now it's Christmas Eve and I'm feeling a bit nauseated by it all. But following the good example of my role model, Weaver of Grass, I will cheerfully persevere. Have a wonderful Christmas, John.
ReplyDeleteYou too xx
DeleteCarols from Kings works for me. On the subject of which is the church opposite you holding any services - carols? I know that you said that the possibility of it being used as a pilgrim church is being explored, but surely it would make a lovely venue for a Christmas Carol event and other Trelawnyd shindigs throughout the year?
ReplyDeleteI cannot listen to carols from kings
DeleteToo many sad memories
You are right about the church , sad it’s shut tonight
Radio music soulless? I am listening to "Carols from King's College" on Radio 4. So much soul it puts The Supremes to shame.
ReplyDeleteEnough about kings bloody college
DeleteLol
Merry Christmas dear John!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely one my friend x
DeleteHappy Christmas John, Mary, Dorothy and Albert. May 2022 be a better year for us all. xx
ReplyDeleteAmen carol
DeleteLove to u x
Only canned Christmas music I've had inflicted on me was at the dentist's. Can put my hand on my heart and swear that being subjected to various versions of "You're a Mean One Mr Grinch" and Mariah Carey's "Last Christmas" all afternoon is worse than a root canal.
ReplyDeleteI feel bilious when I hear Mariah
DeleteShe makes me cringe. Merry Christmas John and everyone else who reads your blog.
DeleteThank you
DeleteIs that your lovely handwriting on the cards? Beautiful song by Tom Chaplin.
ReplyDeletecheers,
Wilma
Yes all mine lol
DeleteHave and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteA painting from you , lucky dogs!
Do you believe in fate? Do you believe in miracles?
Songs, lyrics....time passes.
New, bye olde.
Calm , inner peace to you and love.
Beth
And to u Beth xx
DeleteMerry Christmas John, from very cold and very snowy Alberta!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Janice x
DeleteChristmas music hasn’t overwhelmed here. Usually, by this time of year, it makes me want to scream. I might even pull out my What If Mozart Wrote Christmas Carols CD.
ReplyDeleteYou mad bitch x
DeleteI have chatted on doorsteps today which was a bit odd and different-I have classic FM on day and night-the dogs love it-and for the festive period my fave is Chris Rea Driving home for Christmas-my lily lay in the stream wearing her Xmas jumper today and ate treats-I just lurve the laughing hyena advert-Happy Christmas John and to Your Lovely Followers xxxxxxx(Tomorrow will be my dancing day)x
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas flis x
DeleteTry the refrain from the movie Frozen-Let it Go-o-o-o. Jason's girls can sing it for you I'm sure. Happy Christmas Eve.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you susan
DeleteI too must get to wrapping and labeling. Pandora has many options, and this year I have settled on 'Christmas blues' I have it playing quietly in my pocket (on my phone) as I go about my day. Theraputic level...
ReplyDeleteEnjoyxx
DeleteJust popping in to wish you seasons greetings, john. Hope 2022 brings your hearts desire. X
