I knew by the strangely wrapped gifts inside that Mrs Trellis was on one
A Mars bar surrounded by kitchen roll,
A homemade 2022 calendar with a photo of Mount Kilimanjaro on the front.
A packet of children’s crayons ( opened )
And a pink, slightly balding fabric shrimp with a label saying “His name is Sheldon, I found him at a rummage sale at Glan Clwyd Hospital”
Hey ho
You have some strange and wonderful neighbours young man, it’s what I love about living in a small village....the characters within.
ReplyDeleteMrs Trellis’ gifts are sporadic but always eclectic
DeleteWhat a thoughtful lady ah the joy of surprise in the giving lovely to come home to John.
ReplyDeleteShe’s always been a star
DeleteAn interesting assortment!
ReplyDeleteShe knew you'd give Sheldon a good home. Or at least he can be a chew toy for the dogs if all else fails.
ReplyDeleteget this the right way round - eat the Mars Bar, give the dogs Sheldon to play with.
ReplyDeleteComing home and finding surprise gifts is an experience I've never had. Your village has many nice and thoughtful people. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteIf Sheldon doesn't quite fit in (but I'm sure he will) you can send him directly to me. I would love him, kiss him, hug him and call him...Sheldon. Mrs. Trellis is fabulous. X
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to get home and find a gift of Sheldon.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I LOVE Sheldon! I'd suggest he takes centre place on your pillow, waiting for you each night! Mrs Trellis is brilliant. But the Mars bar wasn't such a good idea if you're going to shed those extra pounds. A friend of mine cuts hers into 8-10 pieces and deep freezes them. There are no calories in a deep frozen piece, don'tcha know!
ReplyDeleteMrs Trellis obviously thinks a lot of you. A strange mix of gifts, but that makes it all the more special. xx
ReplyDeleteI think these are all perfect gifts.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have lovely thoughtful neighbours like Mrs Trellis.
ReplyDeleteI had quite a shock just now-I hadn't put my reading glasses on yet and call me dirty but it did look like an very large erect member-thought I'd got some spam-I was quite relieved it was the corduroy chap x
ReplyDeleteYou must have some very blurry eyes without glasses (or have met some rather odd fellows in your days).
DeleteBit of both I think-they need a spit and polish and I have had my moments x
DeleteBut eyes, antennae and a smiley face? I am feeling rather inadequate...
DeleteTo be honest I can't really remember and it was a very long time ago x
DeleteI imagine that the Mars bar didn't make it to the refrigerator.
ReplyDeleteBless the Trellis!
ReplyDeleteMrs Trellis sounds rather unique, in a very fine way.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!
ReplyDeleteWonderful ! Love Sheldon

How fun! I bet that lifted your spirits.
ReplyDeleteSheldon looks to be a friendly sort and he seems to be a good addition to your household. Mrs. T certainly came up with some delightful and unexpected surprises!
ReplyDeleteMethinks one Mars bar cannot derail your weight loss efforts too much. Enjoy!
Hugs!
Every home needs a cuddly Shrimp.
ReplyDeleteI'm strangely enamored by Sheldon. He's a keeper!!
ReplyDeleteCrayons? X
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the dogs will make of Sheldon? I'm sure they will be curious.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Mrs. Trellis herself is a gift. (I love Sheldon.)
ReplyDeleteYou and your dogs sure are loved.
ReplyDeleteLovely to receive gifts
ReplyDeleteHow Lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteYou really can never tell what will wind up on your doorstep! You have a wonderful little community. Which reminds me, have you been able to resume the telephone booth food pantry?
ReplyDeleteI love Sheldon and Mrs Trellis is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove your community!
