Swan Song



 Trendy Carol has sorted Mary’s haircut today and has offered to take her to the groomers with her own dog
Her husband Euan will look after Dorothy when I’m at work .
They are looking after the dogs too when I go to my nephew’s wedding. 
Filling in for Boffin Cameron, who has been struck down with Covid
I couldn’t cope without the both of them

I see William Shatner is going into space today ( albeit for ten minutes ) 
He’s 80 and I thought what a marvellous swan song it is for him to be part of this mission.
Off to work….

    If you can be bothered can you explain to me this weird NHS 12 or 13 hour shift thing? Especially wearing COVID PPE. It can’t be good for health professionals or staff after nine hours. On my side of the world we still have the eight hour day. I can’t even begin to express my admiration for you and every other health professional who has to do this but WHY !

      Sorry I meant health professionals and the people they’re looking after. Crikey. How tired are health professionals from hours 8 to 13 ? And if you make a mistake, then what ? A bit wrong in many ways.

      Point taken and there is research to base your worries on...but nurses prefer long days generally as they have more days off....
      Also a manager gets an extra short shift out of their staff

    Shatner is not 80, he's 90 I believe. The surname Shatner is suggestive of brown underpants which he is sure to have after his excursion into space.

    What a joy to have helpful friends like Trendy Carol, Euan, and Cameron to make your life easier! Hope Cameron is soon healthy again.
    I remember when Carl Sagan's ashes were sent into space. Wonder if Mr. Shatner is reminded of the voyages of the Starship Enterprise?

    I saw a photo of them all in a Facebook post today - he had a gold coloured shirt, the other three wore red shirts. I've never seen Startrek, but I know what the red shirts allude to......... must say I have no envy at all, I like my feet on the ground.

      Going into space places many stresses on the human body, which can be exacerbated by age.
      I personally am thrilled that Captain Kirk has actually been into space!
