Pumpkin

Sunday mornings, I have found,  can be the most Lonely part of the week.
Luckily, when I’m not rostered to work,  I have got into the habit of buying a quality newspaper and treating myself to a proper breakfast and bucket of coffee at y shed, where I can pretend I’m in a trendy corner of Manhattan
For the sake of my sanity, the dogs are now always left in Bluebell , especially as only last week Dorothy rubbed her arse too excitedly against the table leg and upset my illy coffee over the floor .
I’ve just carved my pumpkin ready for its candles but won’t be home later as I’m off to the theatre with friends tonight.
At least Covid has put pay to trick and treating

  2. Plenty of trick or treating in Belfast. I guess they think that one minute at someone's front door is unlikely to cause an infection.

  3. Trick or treating looks like its going ahead here too. I We take it quite seriously,- a box of Halloween candy to hand out - a box of Halloween candy for us! Both boxes carefully chosen so we have our favourite bars to munch on.

  4. I hate trick or treat. Let's send our kids out to knock on stranger's doors and ask for sweets!???
It was unheard of when I was a child. Halloween wasn't a thing then, but bonfire night - oh, yes! I used to love seeing all the bonfires, across the field at the back of our house. Treacle toffee, Parkin and potatoes baked in the embers. Yum. xx

Great pumpkin! Will you make the gooey pumpkin interior into a pie or toast the pumpkin seeds?

No kids in our neighborhood and the houses are set too far back from the street for parents to be comfortable so we don't even buy Halloween candy. Sigh.
Enjoy the theater and the friends!

    Hugs!

I'm sure the church cockeral appreciated your generosity and perhaps next year pumpkins will sprout in the churchyard?!

      Hugs!

  6. You pumpkin is looking good. Dorothy seems to stir things up wherever she goes. Just like my Caesar. This morning he chewed one of my pumpkins. The one remaining is now out of his reach.

  13. We used to avoid having to open the door to 'orrible kids threatening to spray bleach on the shrubs or slash the car tyres by closing the curtains, keeping the lights low and giving the impression we were out. Not having that this year is the only benefit of the pandemic.

  14. I see Y-shed hosts an intriguing place called "Grumble Studios" - sounds like a place I could give a long piece of performance art sharing all my grumbles. Maybe we could make it a double act (but I have probably misunderstood what it is)

  19. Trick or treating all cancelled here still in lockdown. But some people have put buckets of lollies by the front gate for the kids to help themselves to. Personally these days I am not a fan. Love the lantern! I find it hard to cut pumpkin at the best of times so carving one would be a no no for me despite me loving the look. Hope your theatre trip goes well.
