I feel a bit spaced this morning.
I only finished night shift yesterday morning.
Now I’m drinking a bucket of coffee before a long day at work……with my head fried
All my fault.
It was darkish when we all got up this morning.
And when in the lane I noticed a yellowing of the hedgerow and felt a slight autumnal chill in the air
Where has the year gone?
Believe me John - each year they speed up so that by the time you reach my advanced age each day is gone in a flash.
ReplyDeleteLove your coffee 'bucket'
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. Just when you start to get used to summer, it starts to wane. Remember childhood, when the summer lasted forever?
ReplyDeleteHo hum! xx
Yes, it's racing past. Needing to turn the lights on at about 8 o'clock in the evenings.
ReplyDeleteYour bucket of coffee should get you going!
Apart from those freakishly hot couple of weeks in May [or was it April?] I'd say that this year's Summer has largely been a dismal affair.
ReplyDeleteI think as I've got older everything goes quicker- possibly because things take me longer and I love the Autumn-Fall-all cosy and cosseted loverly x
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely getting autumnal. I am planning to put the winter duvet on the bed today! (I had cold feet this morning.)
ReplyDeleteOh how I hate that rush-hour traffic.
ReplyDeleteIt’s very nippy this morning ….. Autumn is on its way. Breaking my elbow has taken three months out of my year so far so 2021 has been a bit of a damp squib for me and the Summer was a bit of a blur !!!!!! XXXX
ReplyDeleteWorking on a Bank Holiday always spaces you out. Coffee is the answer! Sheep gridlock is better than cow gridlock.....who tend to lick the windows and leave smears you can't see through! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that Cows like to lick the windows. This is so weird but cute !

DeleteThe year is certainly whizzing by. Summer was a non event and for me no different to any other time of year except for humidity.
ReplyDeletei feel like this has been the longest summer of my life. endless 90+ humid weather will do that to you. you have the cutest gridlock i've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteThe past 18 months are a blur,
ReplyDeleteI love the traffic, Bahhhhh!
My thatch is the colour of Autumn and though I may be wrong John-I have recently seen Carol Klein's Beefy and so now I assume he is not as your Mary a Welsh terrier but a Lakeland x
ReplyDeleteIt still feel like summer here. Everything is green and lush, what with these rains falling now.
ReplyDeleteBut I cannot believe it's the end of August already. Time flies.
XOXO
Is this what is meant by "flocking to the seaside"?
ReplyDeleteThose gridlocking sheep appeared after I read you didn't they?
ReplyDeleteSeems like a mosey rather than a "rush hour"! Yorkshire Liz gave me a chuckle imagining cows in the road and their access to car windows! I've been behind tractors but never animals.
ReplyDeleteWishing you well on this nearly a doubling back workday as we used to call it.
Hugs!
It will be summery here thru mid November, probably. s mentioned above tho, the past 18 months seem a blur. I am writing a diary timeline, as I keep thinking Was that this winter or last? We had, what, six weeks where we thought the vaccine would end this nightmare... I got the covid vaxx booster, but am back masking and isolating. Sad.
ReplyDeleteThat's a much nicer gridlock than with cars! Probably less predictable in terms of how and when it will clear, though :)
ReplyDeleteNight duties. Once upon a very long time ago I worked permanent night duties for about 10 years!!
ReplyDeleteI've never recovered from the disruption of sleep patterns. Now I'm retired it's easier because I don't have to be so rigid about getting out of bed in the morning.
But I can frequently 'zone' out of things, much to the annoyance of others. Not that I mind, take me or leave me. It's ok.
I like your goat grid lock. The goats have not a care in the world. Coffee makes everything better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun gridlock to have don't dose of counting sheep.
ReplyDeleteLove the gridlock Welsh style.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I wouldn't find it quite so enchanting if I lived there and regularly encountered your Welsh-style gridlock, but I do in your photo!
