Last night I prepared supper for two.
It was warm enough to sit out and the simple activity of cooking and chatting and drinking a nice rosé couldn’t be bettered.
Trendy Carol ( dressed in something floaty orange and very summery ) called round to collect Mary as we were eating. Some evenings she just goes for a sociable cuddle.
I’m going to have a lazy day today.
A beach walk, some reading, an old movie ( Build My Gallows High)
Nothing much
Au Contraire John, very much NOT 'nothing much'. These are the things that make our lives worth living. I bet you felt content and fulfilled from your socializing.

Everything sounds so enjoyable. It feels as if we are able to start really living again. All good!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little spot for a supper!
ReplyDeleteYou are making the most of your days off! Sounds fun and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteAh, has no one asked who the guest was?! Was it dear Ruth or someone else ...?? Your garden table looks like a lovely setting for a wonderful al fresco supper.
ReplyDeleteAfter your busy days of painting and such, a relaxing day is well deserved. You're fortunate to have the option of a walk by the seaside!
Hugs!
How charming. May there be many more evenings like that.
ReplyDeleteLast week I had just 4 days away with the furry ones-it was the first time in 20 months-we didn't do much but wander around and walk the hills looking out to sea-it had been raining then the sun came out-we saw a hare who popped out of the poppies-whilst looking out to sea the larks were ascending as we walked along-I think we were in paradise x
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely, John, and just what summer was made for.
ReplyDeleteA perfect evening, and a day just pleasing yourself, wonderful. xx
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have a prettier dining room. x
