Cushion less

I did get unhealthily excited in the cushion section of Liverpool’s John Lewis but couldn’t quite decide on what I wanted to buy, so I galloped into kitchen ware like a gay water buffalo where I bought an expensive but rather impressive utensil holder decorated with a blue whale....what larks pip!
I also managed to find some cutlery I was missing and ended my spree with a massive gaggle of birthday cards, I had a hey ho time.

For along time I sat in the centre of the city listening to the buskers sing their songs.
I felt like a sponge soaking up all the noise and the movement.
I met up with Colin too, which was lovely. We walked and talked around Greenbank Park and felt more human

    1. I hope you gave him that kiss from me and told what a lucky Ginge he is. I wouldn't ordinarily kiss a Ginge but for him I'd make an exception x

  2. The utensil holder is lovely, very classy and will give you pleasure to use; you spent time with a friend, but not money on cushions you didn't really want, and just relaxed, listening to buskers. Sounds like a perfect day to me.

John, I love the painting you have on the side of your blog, the one of the man putting on his shirt. Do you know who did it? To me there's something so sweet about it, an intimate moment where he's unaware of anyone else watching. I love how the artist has captured his hands. It's lovely.

  7. My first thought was, "oh, that utensil holder will go so well with the octopus bowl!" Of course, then I had to go back several weeks to find the clean kitchen video to double check so it has taken me a while but, yes, It will go great with that octopus bowl! Good find, John!

  16. I last went to Liverpool in the early 70's (I had a painting in the John Moore's), and I found the place awful. I expect it's a totally different place these days. I must visit again.

  17. I like the size, and design, of the whale Utensil holder. I checked to see what you could have gone to at the Tate Liverpool, but I see it's closed until mid month. We saw a great exhibition of Magritte there the last time we were over that way. Wish I could believe we will get back again...

  18. I'm sure that lovely utensil holder was a lot less bulky to carry home than a gaggle of cushions would have been. You are developing a very lovely 'undersea collection' in your kitchen.
