Diverged

The Walking Dead has continued in a somewhat abridged and covid shortened self for the postponed last few episodes of season 10

Most have been somewhat boring , but the latest , Diverged is a miniature masterclass of charismatic acting from the actress Melissa McBride. The fifty something heroine of the zombie apocalypse.

I won’t go too far into the plot. Suffice to say that old friends Carol and Daryl ( Norman Reedus) are finding their way in a uncertain world again, and like many old friends , their bonds are tested by fate and serendipity .

Carol is trying to cope with Daryl’s rejection and with the benign help of the the delightfully  sweet Jerry ( Cooper Andrews) she finds some order in the chaos

Jerry, the lovely Cooper Andrews

I loved this gentle, meandering episode , which was a thoughtful character study of two lost people.
I hope the final season , season 11 is just as good

It’s amazing , that I’ve followed this programme and these characters for over a decade now..carol and Daryl are flawed people...irritating and flawed and oh so human .....and we all know they are going to make up at the end

They have to

Still haven't ever see TWD, but hope the last season has the ending you want it to for whatever cast members are left standing!

    Hugs!

  4. It is not a program I watch but I'm glad you get so much enjoyment out of it. It is a good feeling to have a special show that you have kept up with for many years. They begin to feel like family. (maybe not good for TWD?)

  6. I love the way you describe the characters. TWD is a no miss program for me on Sunday nights. This episode was a tad emotional. Carol may be losing her mind. Thankfully, Darryl came back to sooth it. I found myself wanting a hug from Jerry! I can't remember the last time I had a real hug!

  7. I haven't watched this one yet as I record them and watch them later but I too have watched from the beginning. Carol and Darryl have always been my favourite and I hated seeing them sort of falling out. I think they are meant to always be there for each other.

There can't be any more now, can there?

  10. The Walking Dead could be your specialist subject on Mastermind ... and it would give you the opportunity to wear your very best Walking Dead t-shirt :-)

  11. Big fan here too! I have been disappointed in the latest episodes but last nights was good and gave me hope that maybe D & C would eventually make up.

  12. I read this post very tentatively as we're still only on Season Five (I think?). But you were skillful in not giving too much away -- except that they don't die. :)
