That made me cry with joy. So inspiring that such a simple thing could forge a new and unexpected friendship between the generations and bring some joy and companionship to someone at such a sad and lonely time in his life. Gives us all hope for the future. Kindness and companionship mean so much in this difficult times. Hugs Susan
The world needs more sweetness. It strikes me that this man just made music and put it out into the world, and look what came of it! Blogging is like that, isn't it?
I saw this on Facebook last week - it is so beautiful and touching - an amazing connection for them. Sadly, one comment I read said that the older chap had now died, but I haven't seen anyone else comment this, so am unsure whether that it is the case or not.
I only sat for a quick cuppa after washing them all and I'm in tears again John-that was So beautiful and what a lovely man he is(I wish he was my neighbour I could play 3 blind mice on my recorder)x

Exceptional. Many thanks for posting this. Sometimes my fragile faith in humanity needs a boost like this, especially as I have no other faith to console me.
This is just beautiful. I loved the new composition piece too. Perhaps I can find it online and listen to it all. Thank you so much for posting this, I'm not on social media, per se.

What a wonderful story, it would make the basis for an interesting film. My only worry is that the wall between the two flats must be VERY THIN.
