That made me cry with joy. So inspiring that such a simple thing could forge a new and unexpected friendship between the generations and bring some joy and companionship to someone at such a sad and lonely time in his life. Gives us all hope for the future. Kindness and companionship mean so much in this difficult times.

  2. The world needs more sweetness. It strikes me that this man just made music and put it out into the world, and look what came of it! Blogging is like that, isn't it?

  3. I saw this on Facebook last week - it is so beautiful and touching - an amazing connection for them. Sadly, one comment I read said that the older chap had now died, but I haven't seen anyone else comment this, so am unsure whether that it is the case or not.

  30. What a wonderful story, it would make the basis for an interesting film. My only worry is that the wall between the two flats must be VERY THIN.
