CROQUE MONSIEUR

The time difference between Australia and Wales makes for relaxed chatting a little difficult .
When it’s 8 pm gin time in Trelawnyd it’s 7am coffee time in Sydney but undaunted by this my old friend Nia arranged a meet for both of us but under the strict rules of cooking together .
I’ve never done it before and I must admit it’s great fun
We chose to make a proper Croque Monsieur from scratch
She in her high tech, sun kissed antipodean kitchen , me in my slightly chilly but perfectly IKEAn version.
It was lovely, as neither of us had much news of any note to talk about, so we would share snippets of what was happening in between yells of “How’s your bechimel sauce coming along ? “
“ ohhh I can hear sizzling !”
An hour and a half later, the croques were crumbs and we were reminiscing about the fatly comical kookaburras I remembered watching in her garden only five years ago .
It was lovely
Our next meet will be in a few weeks time.
We are going to paint together in acrylics
An abstract painting
Sounds like fun
Nia ( front) with my arm around her circa 1980
The rest are my family and friends
We were in the audience of a production of Oklahoma my Aunt was starring in

I got married 2 years ago and it just seemed that there was no excitement in my sex life. My dysfunction to perform to the best of my abilities in bed made it harder for my wife and me to have a good time during sex. And i was having the feelings that she may decide to get a divorce one day. I knew something had to be done in order to improve my sex life and to save my marriage because my marriage was already falling apart, so when i was on my Facebook page i came across a story of how Dr Aziba helped him enlarged his penis to 8ins better.so i Immediately copied the Email address of the Dr and explained to him my problem, he gave me some simply instruction which i must follow and i did easily and my friends Today, i am the happiest man on Earth, All Thanks to Dr Aziba for saving my marriage and making me a real man today. I asked him about some popular diseases like HERPES,HIV AIDS,HEPATITES,DIABETIS, CANCERS, WART, HPV etc.. which are affecting most people he said there is no disease without a cure, he has it all...You can as well reach the Dr below for help on your problem, for he has the solution to all...

  2. Wow! Quite a family, John.

  3. Speaking as the lucky person to have John's arm around me - both then and still metaphorically now 40 years later, just shows that real friendships last. No fuss, no judgement, just love and laughter, shared moments and caring listening. That was just the best start to my day. Turned the 2nd Croque into a madame by adding an egg for lunch! Until we don our artist smocks, I bid you adieu! Love you mate....always. Nia xxxx

  10. What a great idea! Apart from the fun of cooking together, is croque monsieur worth the extra time (washing up!) and effort over good old cheese on toast?

  11. Sounds like a delightful way to enjoy time with a friend across the miles and especially during these pandemic days.

  12. Of course your family and friends would do something like that. The cooking/eating chat sounds like it was a pleasure.

  17. Had to search for Croque Monsieur to find out just what it is ... Surprise! Grilled ham & cheese and topped off with a white sauce! LOL Croque Monsieur sounds so much classier! We have a little French restaurant in town that serves this ... I would imagine it is cheaper to make at home!! LOL
I think doing something like this would be a total hoot if you have a friend willing to go along with it! Looking forward to seeing your artistic creation!!

  22. That sounds a lot more fun that just sitting and chatting. Not that there's anything wrong with sitting and chatting, it's just that no one has much to say these days since we're all housebound. A shared project brings its own energy. And the reward is the eating!
