I may know a single man in the village who would benefit from meeting Chic Eleanor .
We talked about him today and laughed about it.
She’s a delight for she’s not adverse at meeting someone new.
We talked about it today in McDonald’s car park
She asked me who I would like to meet, the kind of guy she could look for
I laughed
“ A man with an easy smile , who wears a jumper with a hole in it” I told her seriously
She understood where I was coming from
And we raised our coffee cups in our respective cars......
Cheers
We toasted
And she smiled her warm Lee Remick smile
Mr. wonderful is out there someplace
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no doubt that many men across Wales, the UK, perhaps even the world, are now busy making holes in their jumpers, practising their "easy smiles" and making plans to head for Trelawnyd.
ReplyDeleteA lovely thought from lovely man x
DeleteAndrew, that may be the sweetest response to a post that I have seen in a very long time. I can just see it in my mind's eye
DeleteYes, a man with an easy smile, who wears a jumper with a hole in it sounds good too me too!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he's out there somewhere, looking for a caring, fun-loving, dog-loving man. I hope you find each other soon. xx
ReplyDeleteany man would be lucky to land you as a husband, john.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to each of you in your matchmaking pursuits!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's such fun , you two great friends helping one another. I, too, am sure that your special man will come along. I truly never thought I'd meet mine and here we are looking at our Golden Wedding come April.
ReplyDeleteIf health and age had not taken its sad toll, I'd be walking on air!
Oh, how I wish I were more like Chic Elenor but I have a feeling that she would never wear a pair of overalls or Crocs, either. But I do wear cashmere! You describe her so beautifully that I can absolutely see her.
ReplyDeleteMeeting new people and being open to the possibilities is just the beginning. You might have just found a match for lovely Elenor. Isn't matchmaking fun...
ReplyDeleteYour smiling eyes and the kindness shown are sure to be a magnet for the right man - who has a hole in his well loved jumper and an easy smile.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and Chic Eleanor just the right person for each of you.
Hugs!
“A man with an easy smile, who wears a jumper with a hole in it." That's not only me, I have more than one hole.
ReplyDeleteYour description of what you want is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Ohhh
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm going to implement this kind of socially-distant get-together with my friends!
And I love me a man with a hole in his jumper.
XOXO
Good luck to both of you, I bet Chic Eleanor didn't specify a man with a hole in his jumper.
ReplyDeleteThen you should recognise him when you see him!
ReplyDeleteFrom what you've shared, Lee Remick is the perfect comparison. I love this song, this video, and Annie Lennox. I also love your description of the man you'd like to meet.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely description. Hope he turns up.
ReplyDeleteIf he isn't suitable for Chic Eleanor he may be nice for you John perhaps xx
ReplyDeleteI've always liked Lee Remick, she starred in some interesting movies and then seemed to disappear. There was one where she goes into the bathroom and the villain disguised as a man enters and threatens her.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm singing that "Matchmaker, matchmaker" song from "Fiddler on the Roof"!
ReplyDeleteThere's no one quite like Annie.
ReplyDeleteDear oh dear John. How could you palm the lovely Eleanor off on anyone else? Hope dashed, love lost etc ;)
ReplyDeleteBut do they have holes in their jumpers?
ReplyDeletePerhaps on your next zoom quiz evening you may see a man with a hole in his jumper hoping to get your attention fingers crossed John.
