Blog Friends The Weaver Of Grass

Yesterday’s comments were much appreciated and timely and showed much good humour and bon viveur in blogland.
That’s how it should be.
Not leaving snide comments on others’ blogs
It’s seldom you have to click on the “ load more” box to read them all and I’m grateful for such interest as I am for the score of emails , suggesting ideas and giving advice from people that know better.

My thoughts today are with The Weaver Of Grass who we have not heard from since she had a fall at home a broke her hip a while ago now. The jungle telegraph has worked its work and all we blogging friends know is that Pat was taken to hospital .
The comment box has been disabled and many of us, who consider her as a dear friend of over a decade , are concerned, and are waiting to hear that she is ok.

That’s why blogging can be so sweet.
Friendships are made despite the trolls and the unhinged
And Pat is a dear dear friend to many of us

Let’s wish her well.

  1. OH yes! And i also send letter and cards to her by snail mail.. for years now... I'am so very worried about her.. Perhaps it is a good reminder to at least show one person how to get into and use your blog just for happenings such as this.. If she is able i would say dear Pat is just as upset as we are to not be able to communicate with us. Sending good thoughts Pat.. Hugs! deb

  2. I've been worried about Pat and wondering how she is. Now that I know the comment box has been disabled, I feel less incompetent for not being able to contact her, but it makes me feel badly she may not realize how much she is missed. Any news would be welcome.

  6. When the comments were removed from Pat’s last blog there had been about 118 I think and that was probably the tip of the iceberg. I hope someone has told here how many probably who like me, read her blog but rarely comment, wish her well and send her love x

  14. When I saw your blog title I hoped there would be some new information on Pat. I know she is being well cared for but I sure wish we would get an update on her. I have a feeling she misses us as much as we miss her.

You are right John, blog friendships and bonds are certainly made and they cross all boundaries of interests, age and location. I am grateful for all my friends here in blogland and you are all important to me.

  16. I tried to send Pat Get Well Wishes a while ago but was unable.I expect she hasn't got her equipment at the Hospital or possibly a Nursing home for recovery exercises. As Rachel mentioned Pat's son perhaps he can take a tablet/I pad there to pass a bit of time x

I join in wishing Pat well and hope there is a way to let her know how many of us have her in our thought and prayers and are sending get well wishes through cyberspace.
She and I exchanged a few emails so I send her an email today just to check in. There has been no reply yet.
Rachel, hope you can find out where Pat is and how she'd doing. I'd send her a card if there was a snail mail address available.
    Thanks, John!

    Hugs!

  27. Thinking of you, Pat, and hoping your recovery is making good progress! You probably have a lot of physical therapy to do and it is a good thing you have Percy to help you along. I am glad you had been taking your daily walks before the fall so you were in good shape for this strenuous recovery. Wishing you the best! Hugs from Ellen D.

  28. I have been thinking of Pat daily and hoping for an update - can't remember who gave us the first one but think I heard it via Sue in Suffolk. I think a broken hip at any age takes a bit of recovering from but I hope that we will have an update soon and meanwhile Pat, positive thoughts being sent to you.

    2. I putout the blog to see if anyone else had heard anything Tom, as for a network, several of us, including yourself have emailed each other sharing what we do do know.

  36. Yes, John, thank you for this opportunity. I've been hoping to hear something daily. I'm glad that Rachel has asked her son for an update. Am sending all my very best wishes that Pat will be okay. So frightening to know one of our own bloggers (like family) has broken a hip...

  38. Thank you so much for this, John. Inspiration is certainly a good synonym for Weaver. So sharp, so caring, so entertaining. Reading her thoughts and doings has been a spy part of my life for along time. I so miss that contact with her. It seems so ironic that she titled her last post about being in a tizz, then had such an accident. I hope so much to see her back here. And, I know she would want us to know how she is. She always told us, when she was able.

    ReplyDelete
  39. How do I write "happy" and come up with "spy"? Spell check stinks.

  40. Oh no!
Hope The Weaver is ok or at least in recovery. The Blogosphere is a cool little world.

  41. I go to her blog each day hoping her son has put an update on there. If her son tells Rachel she is up to it, perhaps we could send messages through Rachel's blog? A series of Get Well Wishes might remind her how much she means to so many of us. What do you think Rachel?

  43. Any suggestions on what might we do to cheer Pat and let her know we are thinking of her? Send cards from the world over? Send a plant and/or flowers (if allowable) in hospital or rehab? I am open to sending something, if I had an address for Pat. Rehab after a hip replacement can be strenuous and a little cheer/contact from blog friends is a nice gesture.
    What do others think?

  45. My first job as an SRN was in orthopaedics. 99% were from falls. Major surgery for someone Weaver's age. I sincerely hope she is tucked up in bed, warm, cozy and comfortable.

We certainly share a common concern and care for her, and a hope for better news soon
