It smells of me that why I think she feels comfortable in it mind you ...bulldogs generally don't mind dressing up at all.
It's a breed quirk!!
After work I was called around to Polish Monika's house to check a chicken who is suffering from Bumble Foot. I wore gloves and a mask , something Monika's daughter captured quite well as she watched me from her drawing spot at the kitchen table.
I felt awful
I think the hens not going to make it
What a wonderful drawing! And adorable photo of dotty Dorothy. Yeah, I think I'll try that with the cats.
ReplyDeleteI would frame that! Hope the chicken improves.
ReplyDeleteIt won't 😩
DeleteI googled it John and it says antibiotic or cortisone cream or tea tree can help or is the poor chicken too poorly?x
DeleteI've told her to get some antibiotics flis
DeleteThat drawing is a keeper. Poor little chicken.
ReplyDeleteI will frame it . I think
DeleteShe captured your attributes perfectly
ReplyDeleteBelly and bad hair mave , I agree
DeleteBut as you know, my legs are to die for in reality
Show us some leg
DeleteYep, she's not quite got the legs right ... but the hair is spot on!!
DeleteI love how all the elements are in that picture. You and your mask and the chicken too. Quite well done, I’d say.
ReplyDeleteI agree , she's a lovely bright child
Deletehow cute (dorothy and the drawing). poor chicken.
ReplyDeleteAfter she gave me the drawing , she added a flower head , with all the seriousness of a Nobel prize
DeleteI like the simplicity of her drawing; it is quite sophisticated in the way that she got all that really mattered. I think it should be framed and put on your wall.
ReplyDeleteI thought that too, very much like your dogs dragging me drawing , it captured the moment
DeleteI love the artwork. Yes, it would be nice on your wall with the others. Dorothy looks better in a mask that some of us do!
ReplyDeleteThe hen may not make it but she will make an excellent coq-au-vin.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful likeness of you.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful portrait of you. Shame about the chicken.
ReplyDeleteWhy can I not stop laughing at Dorothy in her face mask? Have to say, it IS the laugh I needed today.😂
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of Dorothy. And the drawing. Imagine children needing to understand about drawing masks. It makes me wonder about the long term effects of some of what we must do now. I think most children are resilient, perhaps more so than adults, but I do wonder.
ReplyDeleteThe mask covers the difficult to draw parts of the face. Maybe it will inspire more portraits.
DeleteArt in the Age of COVID-19!!
DeleteI agree that your likeness with the chicken is worthy of framing and won't Monika's daughter be pleased about that?
ReplyDeletePerhaps that charming photo of Dorothy with the mask on should be framed too!
Hugs!
Monika's daughter has caught you with a startling likeness. Recognise you from that anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling morose for that poor bird. If she just HAS to go I do hope it's with the absolute minimum of pain and discomfort.
Little Dot is a fine example to all of us of sensible behaviour which, I only wish, more people would take notice of and do likewise. Even in shops, despite it being mandatory, I'd say about 1/4 to 1/3 even now still don't bother, silly people! But of course, the shops need their money however it comes.
Dorothy looks adorable. I too would frame the picture. Thankfully I've never had a chicken with bumblefoot but in my experience once they look unwell it's already too late to do anything for the poor choock x
ReplyDeleteI am glad to say my girls have never had bumble foot (touch wood) but I have read about it and it's not easy to sort out. The drawing is adorable.
ReplyDeleteTell Dorothy that the mask should also cover her nose!!
ReplyDeleteBulldogs already have difficulty in breathing so that suggestion is even more cruel than dressing up the dog in the first place.
DeleteDogs do not enjoy being dressed up. They submit and put up with it because the leader of the pack is making them do it. We should never forget that dogs aren't toys or dollies to dress up for our amusement.
Bollocks
DeleteMy dogs are not keen on being dressed up, but some of them LOVE it. I know for a fact that if you take either Mavis' or Suky's collar off they are bereft. We change them over when they are away from Wales at the Van and that minute being 'naked' makes them very unsure.
DeleteYou can tell if a dog is enjoying itself and an owner usually knows their own dog well enough, without lectures from others.
My top dog loved his parka when it rained as he hated his head getting wet and he was a tough nut too.Darling Dorothy I'm quite sure doesn't dress up daily but in"these times" I think it's very appropriate for her to model a face mask for a photo just remind us all"to Mask up" x
DeleteI think pets can and do pass on the virus. They are just not talking about it.
ReplyDeleteGood for Dorothy, for getting with the program!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think bumble foot existed. It just sounds like somebody who's a bit ungainly.
ReplyDeleteDon't think eating it if it doesn't survive sounds like a good idea.
Dorothy going with the flow hey, what a sweet drawing
ReplyDeletea sign of and a reminder of these times to look back on one day.
