What Ive Got

It's almost the end of my holiday.
And all but one job on my now slightly dog eared to do list have now been ticked off.

But I still have a few wants, a few objectives to complete once I save up enough money.
I have a dreadfully old fashioned bathroom which needs completely overhauling
The bed mattress still doesn't quite fit my bed frame and the carpet in the spare room is a total disgrace
The living room Carpet too is in need of a change and my bedroom needs an upgrade........

I want
I need
I haven't got

But let's get things in perspective
Let's look what I have got

I have this!!!!!

    2. I was searching for loan to sort out my bills& debts, then i saw comments about Blank ATM Credit Card that can be hacked to withdraw money from any ATM machines around you . I doubted thus but decided to give it a try by contacting { cyberhackingcompany@gmail.com} they responded with their guidelines on how the card works. I was assured that the card can withdraw $5,000 instant per day & was credited with$50,000,000.00 so i requested for one & paid the delivery fee to obtain the card, after 24 hours later, i was shock to see the UPS agent in my resident with a parcel{card} i signed and went back inside and confirmed the card work's after the agent left. This is no doubts because i have the card & has made used of the card. This hackers are USA based hackers set out to help people with financial freedom!! 4. Hanging on to your cottage was one of the greatest achievements of your life and I for one applaud you for it. Looking at the sidebar pictures, surely you could make some extra dosh as a Russell Crowe lookalike. With your nipple tassles and lycra trunks you would be soon be in demand at hen-do's and Women's Institute meetings.

Hi John. There is a very old saying... It's not what we have, it's what we value that makes us rich.
You are blessed to live in such a wonderful place.

  7. I have carpets in the down stairs of this house. it is a first for me. I have never lived in a house with so much carpet and I can tell you it is hard to maintain. if I had the money to fix all the floor boards I would sand them back and seal them and have a rug I can change or throw outside and wash. Do you have floor boards? so much more forgiving than carpet, especially with pets. Your view is delightful. I can smell the green.

Well, have you looked underneath that carpet?, if it has floorboards result! l have painted my floorboards and added rugs, mainly from boot fairs and ebay, everyone says they look good, easy to maintain, and cheap to do.
The mattress is it too long, short or wide/narrow for the frame? and what are your carpentry skills like?
    Bathroom, whats wrong in there?.
As you might be able to tell l LOVE decorating!!!!
That view, well, no changes needed there then

I spent the price of a nice car on a bathroom remodel this year, and I like it, and it is very pretty, but bottom line with exception of a little better storage, it does the same thing the old one did, it just looks better doing it.

  25. I may be preaching to the converted here John, but have you heard of Freegle/Freecycle? You may be able to pick up carpets, mattress etc in good condition free. We've both donated and received good quality items when we needed them. Stops items going in landfill too.

  29. Oh to have a view like that - and a genuine cottage!

Perhaps you should consider laminate flooring with the doggies John - it looks so good these days, can't tell it from real wood - and the cleaning is so much easier. We replaced our carpeting all through lower level and love it.

  30. Your view from that window is breathtaking and you did pay for it by being able to keep the cottage! Lucky you!!
I have a similar view from my 6th floor apartment -- I look out over green pastures, trees and more trees, a beautiful ridge of the Wet Mountains that are stunning when frosted with Colorado snow! In the late Fall into Spring, I get to count the new calves being born out in the pastures! Watch the herds of deer cross the pastures on their way to other pastures! Watch the rancher mow and bale those pastures ...
Like your view ... just too beautiful and surely priceless!

Well done in getting everything else done! The painting can wait. Besides, the hallway is likely to be small, so won't take much paint or much time when you get to it. That's a plus for having a small home. :)

      Hugs!

We have similar views, but I don't get to see them as we live in a bungalow, lol. You can never get tired of a view like that and the only changes would be with the seasons and growth. You will always need a new bathroom, mattress and carpets as they wear out or become dated, but that view will live forever.

  39. Concur on buying new carpet for dogs to ruin. How about scatter rugs on top of old carpet, especially in favored places to be messed on? Also they tend to stay put on top of the carpet.

Think carefully about doing too much in the bathroom if it actually works. New tubs tend to be much less generous, for example. (We've replaced 5 bathrooms over the years; I refused to give up my old tub and have never regretted that.) And the house is unequivocally old fashioned; the bathroom shouldn't look very modern. People are still buying new old fixtures to maintain that look, at least here in the states. So look for what you need to make it work better, first. (I lived for a decade with no cold water in the bathroom sink. Luckily it took a long time for the hot to come up 2 stories from the basement, so morning ablutions were a little dance with the water temperature at the tap; drinking water was in a pitcher filled from the tub. I was glad to have that fixed.)

When we think of what's lacking in the lives of millions of people on this plant who don't have beds, or bathrooms, or even a roof over their heads - we are SO blessed to have our needs, such as they are, and the beauty that's all around us if we take time to look. 53. That view, and the friendly villagers are worth a million dollars John. The bathroom makeover is the big item on your list. It’s all very well to say it adds value to the house, but that only helps when you sell, and that’s not your short term objective... but, as a nurse, having things clean, and easy to clean, comes pretty high up your Basic Requirements List, doesn’t it . Hardwood bedroom Floors might be easier to clean, but they’re cold underfoot and more expensive than an off cut of carpet that’s you might source with a bit of luck.
The mattress would seem to me to be the first to tick off. A good night’s sleep is pretty important, especially when you work as hard as you do.

Things to aim for give a focus for the future, and yours is looking bright.

Meanwhile you have a gorgeous view, and drop dead kitchen and a happy. Life with your animals. What not to like!!
