The Great British Sewing Bee

Well with a few crikey and Crumbs  comments the lovely, slightly gauche , 1940s Claire won the Sewing Bee.
She wasn't a hugger
She didn't shout or cry or  emote very much,
She just kept prodding her specs and got on with the job

But her mum loved her so very much and her best friends were people from work that respected her

  1. Stunning finished items, her red dress is pure glamour.

  2. I wanted Claire to win but I was blown away by Matt's ball gown that he made for Martini.

  3. I wanted her to win as well, so pleased for her. Matt's gown was brilliant though.

  4. I wanted Nicole to win. But Clare was steadfast throughout the show.

  5. I was pleased with the result - Clare has been the most consistent throughout the competition. They were all three lovely and such good friends. I did think Matt's gown tonight was stunning but he did pretty disastrously on the first day.

  11. I was very pleased. I've liked her from the start, but I'm terrible at picking winners. Matt and Nicole's gowns were so spectacular, I really could not choose. It all made me very happy.

  12. I've missed it all. They used to show repeats on Sunday afternoons, but they seem to have stopped that now. Darn!

We don't get this show, even on Acorn ... sigh! Wonder if it's on BritBox?

I sew, but haven't made any clothes or curtains in decades. Quilts, yes. Oh, do masks count as clothes?

    Hugs!

  14. I loved her very understated and controlled delight but her mother was brilliant especially when she mentioned that .... she had told the cat and he was not particularly interested... that just made my day!

  15. Would love to see the show here in the US. Heck, I would even like to see past seasons on local PBS. Curb your Enthusiasm is getting a bit long in the tooth.

  18. Hi hun, All three that were left deserved to win for their unique styles. But at the last post Claire was amazing and deserved to win. I loved her sci fi dress.I think that she also did the childs fancy dress as a bunch of grapes, a challenge using a sleeping bag.I also admired her 1940's style in dress and hair. A deserving winner. *hugs* Goldensunflowerx

  19. I see three of us have now commented that you spoilt the show for them . It is a small matter , I know ,but your response was not exactly friendly and quite revealing in it's way .

  20. It was a pleasing series with such a lovely group of people, although I think they made some truly ghastly clothes. Good for Claire, what a charming personality, a perfect antidote to all those love island types.

  21. I wish American tv was more versatile with baking, sewing, gardening shows. It’s seems summer tv is filled with time wasting game shows which mostly humiliate the participants. Not entertainment.
