The high tension of yesterday's dog versus cat war dissipated this morning after I had taken the younger girls out for a long walk, but taking no chances I brought Winnie into the front garden where I knew Albert would follow.
The weather is glorious and I've planted  a sapling staghorn Surmac, by the front gate, where the old Californian lilac tree used to be. It will give height and colour to that part of the garden.
Meirion ( he who has the best garden in Trelawnyd) stopped to chat, he was impressed with my new planting....( I gave credit to my sister)
He's got a lovely agapanthus collection by the way!!!
Ohhh err missus!

Lazily I planted day lilies and cosmos as Albert cuddled Winnie in the sun.
As she snored , I noticed that he cupped her face with his paws and daydreamed by watching the clouds roll by.
Their friendship is a real one of affection

The only mini drama today was a quick visit by Jason the Affable despot who was after first aid for daughter Liv who had come off her bike.
I dug out antiseptic and plasters and told her it looked worse than it was.
She's a trouper and didn't need bullshitting  !

Bike ride later
My gusset has recovered
Hey ho

    4. I don't think they fell out; wasn't it Dorothy who had the stand-off with Albert?

  4. if Winnie goes first I'll really feel for Albert who'll feel so deprived. However, cats don't seem to fret as much as dogs do - or, if they do at all, they soon seem to get over it. But as it now their friendship is ever so touching.

    1. I think cats fret differently. I had one who refused to eat or drink for two days when her beloved, my oldest cat, went off to die. (Grace was born feral and chose to take herself away as ferals are wont to do.)

While Jo recovered as she was generally a good-natured, happy sort, her heart never fully mended. Not long before she died, I gave her Grace's old food dish one day to eat from. She recognized the dish, ate from it, but looked at it a long time with a wistful look.

    2. Sometimes it's quite painful to think what's going on in their minds when we know so well that they have emotions and can be as deeply affected by them as we can. Treating them with great sensitivity is about the best we can do.

  7. And peace resumes, thanks to the best mates. Maybe Albert sees Dorothy as a replacement for Winnie and he's not amused and wants to keep her in her place!!

Nip over to mine today to have a good nosy, it's on the market now. Fingers crossed for a lifting of the strict lockdown rules on Friday, then we might even be able to have some viewings. There are folk queueing up to come and have a look!!

Lovely garden and your new tree will eventually provide some shade, too. Nice!

Nice, too, that the villagers have come by and stopped for a chat.

My dear AMIL ran a daycare center for 25 years and learned the wisdom of having red towels and red washcloths so the color blends with blood. Visually, it's less alarming to injured kids who are bleeding. That makes all kinds of good sense, doesn't it? Liv may be too old now to have been upset, but it makes a big difference to little kids.

Your photo of Albert and Winnie is charming.

    Hugs!

I can just picture the conversation between these 2, running Dorothy down.
Bet they have a 'pet' name for her and it's none too flattering!
And another thing 'that John should tell her off more, 'cos we are the good ones' 'Yeah, that's the truth'
'Wonder if he will bring back treats?' 'but he's gone on that bike again!'
'Let's have a little sleep now'
    Tess xx.

  18. Albert is very loyal to his darling Winnie. My mum got my dad to plant a staghorn tree I remember in our garden near the kitchen window. There was also a weeping willow alongside my dad's fish ponds and waterfall which was the cause of disruption with his continual digging and re digging due to leaks and alterations x

  27. The house looks a picture John. I love agapanthus too, but they’re considered a noxious invasive plant over here. I don’t care, they’re attractive, longlasting and resistant to bugs. Garden centres are only allowed to sell the infertile version.

  28. Winnie and Albert remind me of when my cat Neko was still alive. I still have Mobius, a mostly black tuxedo kitty. Neko was mostly white. He and Mobius were buds, used to sleep curled up back to back. Neko's been gone about 4 years now. Mobius is 20 now; I think he still misses his pal.

The people who work as nurses, the people who work as food workers, you know, the working class, the baby boomers abused their entire lives. Good luck boomers! You'll soon be dependent on those same nurses and food workers who you treated like shit. Maybe you boomer's shouldn't have treated working class and poor people like trash. What goes around comes around.

  30. Be warned, the Sumac will spread like crazy. Whenever you see small shoots growing; pull them out!

  31. Your garden looks lovely. Agapanthus look nice, but here in NZ they are considered a weed, as they smother other plants and take over.

What a lovely photo of the frenemies snuggling together.

  36. I just experience the wonders of Dr Zico herbs. Nature will continue to bless you Dr Zico more abundantly for the good work you are doing in peoples life by curing them from different type of diseases. I will keep on testifying about your good work. I was living with diabetes type 1, 6 months ago and my doctor told me that there is no cure. I did not believe him and i kept my faith up hoping that one day i will be cured from this horrible disease. One day i saw a post on diabetes forum about a herbal doctor called Dr Zico on how he cured people from diseases with his root and herbs and i quickly contacted Dr Zico on his email and explained my problem to him and he told me not to worry that he is going to cure me and truly he prepared the herbal medicine and sent it to me through UPS and gave me instructions on how to take it. After three weeks of taken the herbal medicine , i went to my doctor for checkup and my diabetes result show Negative and my doctor told me that there is no trace of diabetes in my body and the diabetes is completely gone. If You are out there with any form of sickness or problem, you can also be cured from any type of diseases by contacting Dr Zico on his Email: zicoherbalhome@gmail.com
