I do miss my cinema
Today is a nothing kind of day after night shift
So it would be common that I would treat myself to an afternoon's film watching
The Storyhouse in Chester
Something thought provoking with a proper coffee accompaniment
I haven't been to the cinema in an age!!!
I've had to make due with Westward The Women on TCM which is Wagon train western crossed with Tenko..
The best performance was by Renata Vanni , who never spoke a word of English during the movie.
My tea is bit of chicken breast wrapped in salmon with sprigs of basil
I've cleaned the cottage ,washed sheets and hung them on the field gate to dry as Trendy Carol watched the dogs.
Tomorrow is my only day off with no work this week and I've earmarked the day for finishing the garden planting

I was sorry to see Therese go last week because I have enjoyed her work all the way through. Pity she messed up the first day last week but I did love her cocktail dress - thought it was the best. Still the experts know best and are there so see it close up. I think either I think either Clare or Mark probably have the best chance now. I do enjoy the programme.

ReplyDeleteStrangely, I've not missed the cinema at all - in fact, truth to tell, it's been something of a relief. My last visit was three months ago tomorrow and yours will have been around then too.
ReplyDeleteI think it had been coming to the stage where every time I saw a new film there was an unsettling apprehension that there could well be at least one scene which, for an increasing number of reasons, might distress me, even if liking the film as a whole.
When cinemas re-open [at least for those which haven't gone bust] I suppose a resumption of visits will take place, but recognising that my enthusiasm for the medium will have significantly waned.
I'm a bit late, and for you it's already tomorrow enjoy your gardening, and chicken and salmon sounds wonderful together.
ReplyDeleteI had a two meter distances coffee with a good friend on Tuesday. We became close a year ago and spent a lot of time walking my dog together and stopping for coffee or tea. We had spent a bit of time shopping in Southampton with my daughter and all went to the cinema a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteOver coffee this week we discussed how we can walk and chat and have coffee again but neither of us can imagine going out of the village for shopping or the cinema ever again !

ReplyDeleteI'm 80 - I saw Westward the Women when I was a young girl and chaperoned my two younger brothers to one of the four movie theaters in our small town. The part that stayed in my memory was the Chinese man under a wagon doing his little skit with a paper bow tie: "I can't pay the rent," etc. It's entertained many a little kid over the years. I loved Denise Darcel. I'm waiting for your Sewing Bee to come to our area of the States.
