The Royal Opera House House is tonight streaming for free their latest ballet Anastasia
You can catch it on their Facebook and YouTube channels and kick off for the debut is 7 pm tonight.
I'm working later but I will be sure to watch the production some time next week.
The Royal Ballet holds a special place in my heart, and it's been over a year since I last went
Oh to be sipping a gin and tonic in the conservatory bar again
This sounds inviting indeed. I will check it out to see if it is available here.
ReplyDeleteIn time you will be back there. Looks like an amazing space.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to the Royal Opera House as opera isn't my thing, but the conservatory looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIf you are in London just go in for a drink if you can
DeleteOh, the bar looks glorious! Thanks for the heads up and I'll see if it works for us in the nether reaches. I've been watching the Australian Ballet's fare on youtube as well. In a parallel universe, we were heading to Europe this weekend and a trip the ROH had been on the agenda, sigh ...
ReplyDeleteIt is rather special as is the whole building
DeleteI adore it
"Fierce, honey!" - as some would say. 😏
ReplyDeleteClicks ingers
DeleteOh, I want to watch Royal Ballet too ... hopefully the time in my country isn't late with the live broadcast time.
ReplyDeleteWelcome himawan I hope you watch it too
DeleteI wonder it it will be available on you-tube in the US?
ReplyDeleteThe ballet costume and the conservatory are both amazing.
Hugs!

DeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteDid someone say gin and tonic?
ReplyDeleteYes, you always hear that
DeleteI had to dig deep on Google to find out whose music is used for this, as that would be the cruncher as to whether I watch it or no. Answer - Tchaikowsy and [do NOT say "Who?"] Martinu. So might give it a peep.
ReplyDeleteIt was written and produced in the late 1960s originally
DeleteYes, I found that out [Kenneth Macmillan] on my search but wouldn't have known had I not looked.
DeleteThere will always be things which hold a special place in your heart John - they never go away but you learn to treasure them rather than let the memories hurt.

ReplyDeleteI'm a ballet fan. Thankfully my daughter and youngest grandson are too as my husband definitely isn't!
ReplyDeleteA ballet without an audience. Is this how all our shows will be until from now on?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip re the Royal Ballet! xox
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful. Loved the church bells.
ReplyDeleteBaby boomers are dying in huge numbers in retirement homes, LOL! This is your karma. DIE BOOMER SCUMS!!!
ReplyDeleteFrom a recent news article: "The elderly in US care institutions are dying disproportionately from Covid-19. The pandemic has revealed the extent to which their wellbeing and safety have been sacrificed by an industry that prioritizes profit and influence.
The US response to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has been one of the most chaotic and ineffective in the developed world, leading to a situation where this nation of 327 million people, with the globe’s costliest and arguably most advanced healthcare, accounts for almost a third of the total 4.4 million coronavirus cases and 28 percent of all deaths.
But the US situation is even more appalling when one looks at who is dying. It turns out that one third of all COVID-19 deaths have been patients or caregivers working in the nation’s 7,700 nursing homes for the care of the elderly and disabled. Of the total of 85,000 COVID-19 deaths in the US as of noon on May 14, more than 28,000 were elderly Americans."
