Zoom

Thank goodness for Zoom
The app is doing mighty fine in this time of isolation
Even in this tiny part of Wales
Tonight my family got together for a simple quiz
Nothing showy
Nothing flash
A child reading the questions out
A funny wisecracking nephew
A surprise of a decorated toilet roll as first prize!!
It was lovely
I love my family

Yesterday the Choir met and sang a much loved African song about a hypochondriac !
We clapped and sang and as always it was a bunfight of noise and chatter and giggles about silly things, brief personal news and of course of   Lindi's Charlie
( Charlie is in fact a dog!)
I love my choir

Speaking of dogs Hattie called around for some more  "Mary Time" today
I feel this could be the start of a new business venture

  1. That toilet roll prize is worth its weight in... err... gold.

  4. Our CBS Evening News just showed your Welsh goats in the street in a segment illustrating the change in the atmosphere and wildlife boldly exploring "civilization" - also mentioned how working at home can be a reality going forward, keeping the air cleaner, as well as a lot of other things. We may be entering a new era different in so many ways - for the better, we hope. (Sorry I'm off subject.)

So happy there's a way now for families to connect. It's a new chapter everywhere!

  6. I envy all your Zoom connectedness, a little. The only people I video chat with are coworkers...but honestly, I can't think of a whole lot of people I'd like to stare at onscreen. My family's not one for silly fun, sadly.

  7. I don't like Zoom because of sound and vision issues and too many people talking at once. Very annoying.

Will you be able to arrange time off from your job to be able to stay home with Mary while she recovers after her vet's appointment? I know it's not a dangerous or devastating procedure that she'll go through, yet it was a comfort to me and my animals that afterwards I brought them home&stayed there with them for a while.-Mary

  11. Zoom is fantastic. We just took part in an entertaining and informative Zoom'ed interview with Erik Larson, au. of "The Splendid and the Vile" about Churchill in 1940-41.

  13. Since we have FaceTime, WhatsApp, and Skype, we hadn't bothered with Zoom. But then two of our nephews arranged calls, so we've not got that, too. Have to admit, I was impressed with the quality of sounds and visuals. Hope they've got their security issues resolved.

  15. Impressive! I can't get my family to even Skype with me one-on-one, much less Zoom all together!
