Vigil

South West of Trelawnyd there is a flat, wide valley which runs gently down towards the coastal plain nearly six hundred feet below.
One of the fields that border the road seawards has been newly ploughed and seeded and perched proudly in its centre is a somewhat incongruous smiling scarecrow wearing a multicoloured Kagool
I saw him today
Arms outstretched in a Jaunty welcome he faces passing motorists quite cheerfully

Positive and optimistic
It's the only way forward

  6. Love it, that red cagoule will become a local landmark 😃

We always said when Alan retired we would dress a scarecrow in one of his suits and have the smartest scarecrow in North Wales on the Veggie Patch ... but then he never retired. If he keeps annoying me during lockdown I might just pinch his suit anyway 🤣🤣

  16. The field needs an army of scarecrows. Not just one. Perhaps local schoolchildren can volunteer to stand in the field - two metres apart of course.

  17. Wouldn't miss him for miles; but methinks he is less a scare crow than a beacon of hope. Wouldn't scare many crows in a field that big. Very cheery in amongst the general doom and gloom.

Optimism at it's best: a scarecrow before any sign of growth of those seeds. A good lesson for all time, even though it seems especially good now. Nicely colorful, too. Please pass my thanks to the farmer if you know him!

    Hugs!

  24. I have never understood what a "kagool" is. I'd never even heard the word before watching "Absolutely Fabulous." It must be a British thing.
