Well I'm an old Queen Too so I too thought I'd say hello and thank you.

I'm ok and being very well looked after even though my symptoms are not as serious as some have experienced
I was tested this morning for covid and will get the results in a few days.
I obviously have a virus and have the symptoms exactly like one nurse at work has after he caught something from his daughter.
We will wait to see if it is covid.
I have slept, off and on for most of today, and I have wanted for nothing.
A dearheart from the Trelawnyd Street Warden Group dropped off some home made soup and added to the garden wall gift by leaving a whole bag of food and toiletries which was totally overwhelming and my request for dogwalkers illicited seven offers in an hour as well as three new leads after Dorothy had chewed through hers in a fit of anxiety.

ReplyDeleteI've had similar symptoms to you John. I was tested yesterday, and got a negative result this morning, so my husband will be able to return to work at the local hospital next week. Fingers crossed for you.

Darling John! I am relieved that your symptoms remain mild. How I do wish someone could be with you as you feel poorly, after all the patients you have done that for. Well, you have many with you virtually, and at least you don't have to worry about whether your hair is sticking up, or if your shirt is stained, or how badly that last fart stank. Fart and scratch away in comfort, and we will care for you virtually, while your neighbors do so in person. Socially distant hugs to you!

DeleteBe very cautious if it's suggested you take Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, get an EKG first, for sure, they can cause arrhythmia, and have not been proven to be effective. If you EKG shows prolonged Q-T interval, don't take it, if it shows any PVC or Atrial tach/fib, don't take it. I know you know all this. You'll beat it, my friend.

May I suggest a dose or more if necessary of Texas Hot Toddy, don't know if it has ever been taken for Covid but it's kicked the butt of many a case of flu over the years. 2 oz of a really good bourbon (white lighting is better but doubt you have access to it), 1 tea bag, 2-4 jalapeno slices (if not available substitute a couple of dashes of Tabasco sauce or chili flakes to taste), hot water & 2 tsp. of honey. Muddle the jalapeno slices in the bottom of a large mug, add tea bag and boiling water (leave enough room for bourbon & honey) let it steep for a few minutes, remove tea bad, add bourbon & honey, stir & sip, then go immediately to bed. Keeping my fingers crossed that your test will be negative.

I'm glad you've been tested and I hope you recover soon. I was really ill 4 weeks ago after husband came back from travelling down south and brought back a virus. NHS advice at the time was that if you had cold symptoms, it wasn't the C virus, so we assumed it was just a cold. We had raging sore throats, muscle and joint pain, shivering really badly for three days, sneezing, coughing and then breathing difficulties. Not nice. But as we haven't been tested, we will never know whether we have had it or not so we have to remain ultra careful as there are cardio problems and asthma in the family. Take care and rest up x

Last night, I organized a thanks-for-everything noise-making event at 8:00 pm last night in honor of nurses, first responders, physicians and essential workers of all kinds. We're out in the country, with houses on acre lots, so social distancing was maintained, but the noise of pot lids, car horns, and even a saxophone echoed all through the neighborhood of about 45 homes. I was thinking of you when I organized it and when we were making our noise, too.
ReplyDeleteOne of my close relatives is pretty sure he had it(he did say that it may have been flu though).He stayed in bed for 5 days and only had water and paracetemol.He sweated loads and changed his sheets daily and now luckily is better.He is in his mid 50s x
