I've been asked to show just how I get to talk to so many passing characters in Trelawnyn, so here is a lazy arsed video showing anyone interested just " where stuff is!!!"
I only know it's Tuesday today because Hattie reminded me it was choir meeting at 6.30pm Tonight.
Your cottage is just idyllic John! x
ReplyDeleteThank youx
DeleteLove the virtual tour. At one point your reminded me of the Carole King song … "Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, All you have to do is call, and I'll be there, yes, I will … you gotta friend." Sounds as if it was written just for you and your Trelawnyd friends. I'll be checking out 'On the Red Hill'. I've just read 'Going Gently' after you mentioned it recently and loved that. Thanks for introducing me to David Nobbs.
ReplyDeleteOn the red hill seems to be just as nuanced
Delete"frivolous beoch". ROFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteLol.....gotta add a bit of gayness sometime or other x
DeleteCwtch. Lovely cottage John - cool in the warm weather we're having. Hope you're spending some time in the garden.I note the book - the title is a play on Bruce Chatwin's 'On the Black Hill'? - a favourite novel (and film), although realise the context of 'Red' is different.
ReplyDeleteOn the black hill was dark but another favourite
Deleteawwww, wee albert on the bed. loved the tour. nothing wrong with a small house.
ReplyDeleteIt's all.mine.....wellthe mortgage is
DeleteLoved your cottage tour. It looks very comfy x

DeleteThank you for the video tour, it's always interesting to see someone's home. Yours is cheery and comfortable looking, and I love how much art you have on your walls. What gorgeous views you have!
ReplyDeleteYou sometimes take it for granted
DeleteI loved seeing this John!! What a great home.
ReplyDeleteIts home
DeleteYour cottage is gorgeous. Heather
ReplyDeleteThank you heather....but you didnt see the bathroom!!
DeleteThanks for the tour! I liked the outside views of the church, field and lane -- gives me a better sense of your neighbourhood!
ReplyDeleteJanice was right then x
DeleteWhat a beautiful home you have John. Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteWelcome x
DeleteThat was very nice to see. Your cottage and village are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteXx
DeleteLovely to have neighbours. Here, we have Conversations with Cows!
ReplyDeleteI love your sitting room with those beautiful cupboards. What a serene room.
There is a story about those cupboards
DeleteJohn, having had the guided tour - what a delightful cottage and how lovely for communicating with passers by. How glad I am that you were able to stay there - I am sure you feel the same. x
ReplyDeleteAmen pat...I'm glad I'm on the lane...passing foot traffic means you always see someone
Deletewow....is that lot across the lane yours like in ...do you own it? that's a nice piece of land. i love how your cottage is situated. i guess you can run around in your skivvies though?
ReplyDeleteNo I rent it from the church
DeleteCharming, very warm and loving place.
ReplyDeleteThanks david
DeleteA fun tour, John, and a cozy place though I'm not sure about living across the lane from a cemetery!
ReplyDeleteI always thought that...but I love it now. I remember rebuilding the church wall in my field ( it had been delirict for years
Delete) and found a human femur
I wonder if the person who owned the femur was buried in the ground on the church side or on the outside of the wall? I know, too much Time Team!
DeleteHugs!
Are there any amenities in your village?
ReplyDeleteWe have a school, chapel, church village hall, and just outside the village a garage and shop
DeleteAnd don't forget the PUB ... the most important place in the village ... or has it closed down :-(
DeleteI very much enjoyed that! And yes, now it is easy to understand how people see you / talk to you through the kitchen window, or leave things for you on the wall. Thanks! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteMy sister should have left me a bunch of sweet peas on it tonigjy
DeleteI loved this! I just wish you would pan a bit slower so so much isn't a blur, esp outside and the living room. But fun to see, thanks! Garden tour next?
ReplyDeleteOk nectbtime
DeleteYou sound different to how I imagined.
ReplyDeleteIn what way
DeleteI want to live there. You gafe a lovely voidecsoothing and sexy
ReplyDeleteSexy???
DeleteI enjoyed that! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteTOTALLY CHARMING - You make me what to downsize big time - so warm - so cozy and so inviting - perfect in every way. What a lovely neighborhood - I would never want to leave. You are so blessed and deserving of such a wonderful home. Well done, John, well done. Mary Ellen
ReplyDeleteI do.miss my.old sheffield home.which was much bigger
DeleteJohn, just curious, are you friendly with your immediate next-door neighbors? Your cottage is charming and you have such a cozy sense of decorating!
ReplyDeleteYes sailor john and mandy live there
DeleteWe get on famously
It comes handy being so friendly with our neighbors during the pandemic, natch. Besides, your home is super cute. Warm and inviting...
ReplyDeleteTotally approve.
XoXo
Cheers matey
DeleteThank you for the tour. You cottage is lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely home John and the views are beautiful.Yes I too think you have a very sexy voice.By the way do you have a bathroom as we never saw a loo or bath or shower or do you have and outside spa?x
ReplyDeleteIt's very basic . I will save up for a refurb
DeleteMine is too John with a water tank on the wall high up and a pull chain and a crack x
DeleteSimply gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to live in a cottage, I'll not give up on that dream.
Stay well,
Hugs,
~Jo
What a dear Home Sweet Home, indeed, and what lovely views you have indoors and outside. Ta for the video!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you have in mind for the refurb?
I hope you enjoyed choir this evening and are home again humming the tunes, continuing to sing, or listening to the music of your choice.
Hugs!
I would like a wet room and a shower
DeleteI hope there is room to fit them in without a big kerfuffle or big expense. :)
DeleteI love your cottage. It has so much character and history. New homes are so vanilla! They are so sterile and have no personality at all! The old homes in the town close to me have been renovated and cost a fortune!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tour I thought the church was to the right ? but it is on the left up the lane.
ReplyDeleteYour home is wonderful I love the cheery yellow paint.
Take care sounds like your feeling better.
parsnip
If you stand at the gate looking out in the lane the church is straight ahead of you
DeleteLovely cottage... it seems to suit you totally, thanks for the tour... what's a wet room? Loved Albert asleep on his lonesome on the bed... there's always a cat somewhere asleep in my house.
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland
Basically a film that can get totally wet from a shower....
DeleteYou cottage is wonderful :) I have been reading your blog forever. I look forward to it everyday. So glad you didn't have the virus. Have a good day/evening. Bobbie DeWitt
ReplyDeleteA great name you have x
DeleteReally enjoyed the tour!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely - I think its just the perfect size and I am very envious of your garden - we had more snow flurries today!
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely cottage! So nice to see some of the bits around your part of the world! I have a dream - to come live somewhere in the UK in a really really old cottage for a few years. All that history, all the joys and sorrows, all embedded into the fabric of a home. Aussies just dont have any of that, we're a bit new ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your special space! You stay safe yourself.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent mini-tour, but have to admit that throughout, until the final seconds, I was awaiting an appearance from doggies. But I've no doubt we'll be seeing them again soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your cottage. Comfy, cosy and well situated with sweet gardens. So glad you were able to hold on to it, as, I am sure, are the villagers you write about. Stay well, Dear John. x0x0 N2
ReplyDeleteI imagined sort of a gruff voice, but yours is soothing. It's a compliment. Voices can be very attractive or ruin a person. Ge proud yours is lovely.
ReplyDeletea place for everything and everything in its place, cosy and very homely and, of course, a home is not a home without pets :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely and you've caught it on film really well. The only thing the clip doesn't pick up is the lovely 'feel' to your cottage as you step in. It's a little cottage full of love and living, and gives you a hug the minute you walk in the door.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it's still yours ... and the banks of course ;-)
Lovely! My house is about the same size but all on one floor. And its original building was a log cabin!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip (despite the fact that I wish I had taken a motion sickness pill before it started). You sure do have your own little bit of paradise. Thank you for inviting us in. And thanks for nearly four minutes of your soothing, sexy voice!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Moving with Mitchell that you have your own little bit of paradise.
ReplyDeleteI notice that you did not venture into the bathroom. Is that because you had just done a Number Two?
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom is somewhat
DeleteBasic
Haha ... now you have everyone imagining a bucket in a cupboard, with an old tin bath ;-)
DeleteIf you don't have a bog brush, I can send you one. It's chocolate coloured.
DeleteJohn, your home is bloody lovely! I hope you have many fabulous years there x
ReplyDeleteThank you for the video, your home may be small, but as my mum used to say "Good things come in small packages", it's lovely x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the tour!! What a super home !
ReplyDeleteLovely cottage John. When was it built?
