Hello people!
Siri says it's Wednesday today.
The weather is colder and more unsettled of late, but the wild flowers in the Churchyard which have been allowed to flourish are still looking mighty fine
One of the ponies in the field caused some minor excitement yesterday by getting themselves entangled in the old pig pen fencing in an effort to say hello to a new colt across the lane . Graham the Sheep, knocked on the lane to inform me and in shorts I traipsed across the field to check.
Luckily the mare was ok save for a couple of small cuts which now have been treated
When I returned to the cottage I found a small hand written note in the post box
It was from a villager who wanted me to publish their thoughts on the blog today
A fair point for sure but also one that perhaps underlines how inward we are all looking at this time .
I'm going to have an art day today. A year ago I bought some acrylic paints and brushes and canvases but didn't use them as I got sidetracked by my journey into pottery ! So I am digging out my inner Nancy Kosinski and will give things a go. A large lump of clay has also been delivered so I can start fashioning my new chess set pieces!!
Clay , paints and pastels
Homemade soup today will be cauliflower and Stilton
My cottage mates remain well and excited at the prospect
I must come in disguise !!!!
What larks pip!!!!
Cauliflower and Stilton soup. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt will be......I put garlic in it too

My sister is a champion crochet nut
DeleteShe made it
The crochet is beautiful.
DeleteHaha
ReplyDeleteSo Zoom has become all that, huh? I do Google Hangouts and Google meet. It comes with the Google suite and it's easy to use.
The idea of the handwritten note is very quaint. I like it! Talk about low and high tech merging.
Wildflowers give me a sense of Spring. I love seeing them pop up.
XOXO
What's google suite
Deletethe wildflowers and the girls.
ReplyDeleteand is it just me (dirty girl that I am), or does that tombstone look like a phallic symbol?
Yes, it is just you dirty girl!
DeleteNo, I thought the same. I have just checked in for the first time reading old fave blogs in over a year and I must say John as per your photos you are looking very boyish and handsome. I think single life agrees with you!

Dirty minds think alike.
DeleteI applaud your mystery village correspondent and his/her focus upon particular items of litter in Trelawnyd. Littering is a horrible, antisocial and unnecessary habit. In my opinion they should bring back village stocks and pelt the culprits with rotten fruit and eggs. This of course would be in full compliance with social distancing guidance. Afterwards, the culprit would be required to clean up the egg and vegetable mess left behind.
ReplyDeleteThe letter was from your muse Mrs Trellis
DeleteOh be still my beating heart! Mrs Trellis's handwriting is so beautiful - like Victorian calligraphy.
DeleteWhen you are done, take a picture of you in disguise and post it for us.
ReplyDeleteI will
DeleteDo remember to change your zoom name too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know I had one lol
DeleteI think its brilliant how imaginative some people have become during lockdown. My friends and I are having a zoom lunch date next week! Who'd have thought! xx
ReplyDeleteI've been watching tiktok ..amazing little videos relating to lockdown
DeleteCauliflower soup!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed!
DeleteIs 'To say hello' a pseudonym for base lust?
ReplyDeleteThat's new to me
DeleteI am hosting a short family reunion tonight on Zoom. We hope to do it more often. I, for some reason, thought the note you'd been asked to include on the blog was poetry, and I began reading it that way. It works, until the admonition at the end!
ReplyDeleteIf all your village friend has to complain about is a banana skin, tangerine peel and a couple of cans she should be very thankful! No heroin syringes? Discarded baggies?
ReplyDeleteOh John! If the painting bug has hit you, check out Bob Ross videos on YouTube. He has quite the cult like following.
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth is all this 'Zoom' business? All Greek [Ancient]] to me. Mind you, I'm one who's never had a mobile phone [are they still called that now?], nor ever used one owned by another, nor even TOUCHED one, so what do I know?
ReplyDeleteAn art day sounds like a good idea. Every time I try fixing something it seems to come out worse.
ReplyDeleteWish I could read that note John - could you provide a translation.
ReplyDeleteOutside my house I've had drugs packets with white powder, crystal residue, cannabis which they have now moved on from, little gas canisters from which they inhale for kicks, smashed budweiser bottles and blue tablets I think viagra and lots of litter.I think it sounds very civilised in your village compared to mine x
ReplyDeleteOh the excitement among your doggy housemates is exhilarating and tiring to watch 🤣
ReplyDeleteThat bulldog photo is frame-worthy. I can sympathize with your note-writer -- I'm still seeing a ton of trash and litter in our neighborhood. Just today I sent two reports to Camden council for cleanup. The worst is people discarding old latex gloves and masks on the street -- ugh!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs lol!
ReplyDeleteThe excitement here hit a dizzying high spot this afternoon with a cup of tea about about four o'clock .
ReplyDeleteLove Mrs. Trellis' thoughts for blog fodder! I have trash to pick up in front of our property, too, and I must wonder what the parents and grandparents of the litterbugs would have to say about their willful and annoying actions?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the crocheted blanket your sister made for you (or for the dogs).
Enjoy exercising your inner artist as you paint and shape chess pieces!
Hugs!
I do believe it is Wednesday lol, i tell my kids to remind me when its Friday as i need to start my work week lol. As for creative i've been threatening to paint the porch for 2 days lol maybe tomorrow.
ReplyDelete"What larks Pip" I can remember that line vividly simpler times, your way ahead of me with the new language of the technical world, Zoom sounds like a fun and nice way to stay in touch I still haven't gotten the hang of skype and can't text not the same shorthand I learned when I was young I sometimes think we are al a part of a futuristic movie and when the powers that be say "every thing is fine" will we still give people a wide birth and become afraid of contact, walking in the woods a while ago a little girl with her mom seemed terrified of me because of the scare of old people.
ReplyDeleteAny way I'm, rambling on to much time on my hands.
Enjoy your projects and those lovely dogs and Albert stay safe.
The soup sounds sooo good, will you share therecipe. Tho I suppose I won't get out for the stilton for, what, years?
ReplyDeleteIt is surprising and a bit sad that so many people boast about not learning about technology. Surely now is the time, plenty of time on their hands etc. I have no one to Zoom, lol, but if I did , I would!
Lizzy D, funnily enough not everyone is into "technology" there are still people who prefer a letter in the mail to an email and the like.

An art day seems like a fun thing to do. Show us the final product(s)!
ReplyDeleteYep I can see they are really excited! have fun with your artistic efforts. Only two more cases yesterday - our recoveries are not far from our total infected, apart from the 18, I think deaths :(
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of fashioning your own chess pieces; will they take a traditional bent or something more modern? Dogs certainly look thrilled lol.
