Cruise Singer

I know someone who is the spit of Jane McDonald
( for those that don't know Jane McDonald is a friendly Yorkshire type who made it famous as a cruise liner singer in a reality tv show)
The person I know is also a broad, Yorkshire woman who ooozes Bonne viveur like sweat and everytime I see her she tries to set me up with a date with her local practice nurse
" He's had his heart broken so is just ripe for you!" She gushed breathlessly the other day
" He has a beard AND EVERYTHING!!!"
( I wondered briefly what EVERYTHING could mean?)
"Jane" had previously found out I was single after picking up on the indentation left by my wedding ring on my left hand.
It was a true Miss Marple moment, and because she liked me, she's  made it her mission to get me back into the dating game
"Shall I give him your number ?" Jane asked only a couple of days ago " He's ever so sweet.....teeth like Donny Osmond?"
I felt I had been transported into the medical Fiddler On The Roof
I'd make a grand Tevye!!!

Go for it John! What have you to lose? If we all put off making the first move we'd never get anywhere. He's known to your friend and that's better than being an unknown, even if you only end up meeting for a coffee and it goes no further you could have a new friend. You could even get to find out what the "Everything" is!

Everything could mean he is seriously well hung and gets very hard. Not sure I would like Donny Osmond teeth though. They may rather get in the way.

  12. I wonder what the "everything" is too. Eyes? Ears? Hair? She has piqued my curiosity.

  15. John - I am of two minds! Sure, what's to lose meeting him? And then there is the only if they know you and the other VERY well, should they attempt to fix you up. Hmm. I suppose, too, I could be a romantic and say "Allow the Universe to put someone in your path." Ok, 3 minds then. I think, too, we have all had our rebound relationships, the ones that helped us understand ourselves a bit more. Oh hell, GO for it! :)

  20. You’ll never know if you don’t meet him over coffee.

  21. I'd give him a try, but only if there's minimal chance of bumping into him again should it not go the way either of you'd like. Now THAT is what there could be to lose, which would be enough to deter me! (Possibly the reason I've always been single?)

A new acquaintance, a new friend, or a new sweetheart, in time. None of those are bad options. Who knows what it might be if you don't meet for coffee? Boldly go, and all that!

    Hugs!

  23. When Jane said " He's ever so sweet.....teeth like Donny Osmond?" was she talking about you or the possible blind date? Donny Osmond's teeth are false. He soaks them in Steradent every other night.

  27. Back in the day I was totally in love with Donny Osmond as were all the girls in my class at school... I never then noticed his teeth! Go for it; nice teeth mean well kept. Nothing to lose, better than not taking any chances. Good luck :)

  28. Go for it!

Now, if anyone has a niece, sister, friend, under 30 that's employed and free, I have a very nice 26yo son who really wants to settle down and have a family. He's employed, lives in his own home and has a pension.

It get's difficult as we get older and the sad thing is at 26 he's realized it. Forgive a mother for trying.

But go for it John, you might make a friend or develop a friendship into something more.
