This song is an African song about a hypochondriac
The hypochondriac ( played by RAF moustached Jamie) is bemoaning his lot and
We, the villagers, are " taking the piss out of him"
In song!
What he didn't know was that several of the choir was going to hold up flash cards to wind him up,
But being the professional that he is, he never reacted to any of them!
( I am in the yellow shirt..hidden at the back , before you ask!)
The wonderful Rivers
They had better lighting !!!
But more somber clothing
Not so hidden! I could make you out enough to see you were really enjoying yourself. A relief, after your post title made me think your morning lie-in was for health reasons. 😁
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWay too much fun !
ReplyDeleteparsnip
Very good and you weren't that well hidden, I found you before being told.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Lovely. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteExcellent, excellent!
ReplyDeleteYou kept perfect time! Clap, sing, rock.....I am impressed.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, I love it! What did Jamie say later about the cards that were held up? It looks like everyone had fun.
ReplyDeleteVery nice John, I love this song
ReplyDeleteYour choir looks very bright and gay. It's a great Milligan quote, I think on his gravestone. I plan to slip it into my Mother's funeral service when eventually the time comes, eventually. For someone who is so self described always unwell for the past 50 years, she is in remarkable health.
ReplyDeleteWow that was fab 👏
ReplyDeleteJaney x
Fabulous - and such fun for all. Pity we couldn@t read the flashcards. I wonder whose idea it was.....?

Susan
Yellow shirt? You must have looked like a banana!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that when said shirt was purchased he told me that it was mustard. I doubted the choice then, but more so now that he has been filmed wearing it in public.
DeleteWe should be employed as his fashion advisers Moaning Mavis. The crocs would be out straight away and there'd be no food stains down his front either.
DeleteI'm not sure my choices of labelled trainers and sportswear would meet your approval. It's that Chav thing ya know x
DeleteShucks! I had no idea you were a chav - innit?
DeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteWow. You are all amazing. I’ve already watched the video three times! I love the title of the post, too. That’s an actual epitaph on a grave somewhere... I wish i could remember where I saw it.
ReplyDeleteI think it was supposed to be on Oscar Levant's grave. He was a very well known hypochondriac.
DeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteLoved the video and am still past delighted you in the choir!
ReplyDeleteCome to that, the fellow on the far left in photo of the Rivers group looks like it might be you. :)
Hugs!
Well done!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are awesome. I really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing.

You have made a wonderful life for yourself. Revel in it.
ReplyDeleteA great performance!
ReplyDeleteWere you all asked to wear colorful shirts--specific colors?--to match Jamie's rainbow shirt? Interestingly drab Rivers. Hope the house guest was okay and the girls [canine] behaved!
ReplyDeleteWhat did the flash cards say? I love Jamie's shirt. I'd wear that! Bravo on the performance -- you all sounded great.
ReplyDeleteI smiled all the way through John-could of watched and listened to you all for much longer- very uplifting x
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Well done Jamie too, it seems he has a lot to put up with!
ReplyDeleteWell done - you all sound to be going great guns!
ReplyDeleteWell done I hope the Rivers were impressed by your choir John, and that you house guest was a hit with the dogs and Albert.
