I'm tired tonight
Didn't get home until 9pm
Traffic bad along the coast
Even Wales has gridlocks
Nothing more lonely than a commute home
I'm not depressed
My new best mate at the hospice knows about my next "date"
"Leave me a note on reception stating ๐ Or ๐๐ผ She asked as she left duty today
People love to know things about you!

Rest up. Hopefully tomorrow is gridlock free.
ReplyDeleteDay off tom
DeleteHave a bath, remoisturise (not diprobase this time) and soak the aches away with Gin.
ReplyDeletePS I never said Dreadful. I said DRY LIKE A HUSK ๐
In a disgusted voice
DeleteYou had better get some beauty sleep.
ReplyDelete100 years too long?
DeleteA 55 year-old travelling companion is what you need.
ReplyDeleteBOOM!!!!!
DeleteYou will be fine.xxx
ReplyDeleteThe Expressway has always been a misnomer, even twenty and more years ago when we lived in North Wales
ReplyDeleteYour date is a very lucky man - Nice and slow John xx
ReplyDeleteDirty gal
DeleteMy work friends are ones I treasure. They are like a bonus.
ReplyDeleteThe A55 is a bloody pain at the moment with the contraflow in place. It must be dreadful after a long shift ☹️
ReplyDeleteA night mare .... after next week let's sort a meet up
DeleteIt only takes one slow driver, in 25, to slow the flow of traffic, I hate traffic, but love the city.
ReplyDeleteHear hear for a Saturday off! Hope you get some rest, with dreams of bulldogs dancing on fresh new carpet.
ReplyDeleteit sounds like you are making new good friends at work already!
ReplyDeleteAudiobooks to keep you company?
ReplyDeleteI like Lizzy D's suggestion of audiobooks. DH is currently listening to Hamish McBeth episodes (MC Beaton) from the library as he works in his woodworking/slot car shop.
ReplyDeleteWishing you sweet dreams and a happy day off!
Hugs!
You need audio books. Racy ones may get you home sooner.
ReplyDeleteI hate traffic. I live 20 minutes from work ... but with traffic, takes me an hour to get home some days. Rest up and enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteCali G
Play I-Spy; it worked for me when I was small.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you already have a best mate at work and I am not one bit surprised!
ReplyDeleteMaybe , when you are better established, you could switch this job to two long days a week instead of three. Just hoping...
And we want to hear things are thumbs up...
ReplyDeleteLOL John I don't think anyone here is going to argue with that theory, for obvious reasons! xo
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very positive John. Changing jobs is fairly stressful, and you’ve had way more than your fair share so you’re due some good stuff! Did the face lotion work a miracle? I’d suggest down your neck too... that’s where age shows, and you’re getting younger this year as the weight lifts from your shoulders.
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear you have made a ,ovely friend at work x
ReplyDeleteObviously your new friend thinks you're worth it,and you are!
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of the idea of us reading your blog. We want to know about you. It's my best chance of knowing someone from Wales. And you are so worth knowing. Please keep posting.
ReplyDeleteI always looked at my ride home from work on Friday as the best half hour of the week. There was the two days free ahead of me and the thought of all the things that I might do with them. Now, nothing may happen but anticipation is a wonderful thing.
ReplyDeleteThat’s the truth! Hope you had a good night’s sleep.
ReplyDeleteAnother recommendation for audiobooks. I used to commute 100 miles a day in heavy traffic. The only way I survived was listening to books. Luckily, our library system had a good stock of them. Another thought--if you are into podcasts and have a device that will allow you to listen to them in the car.
ReplyDeletePeople love to know and be known.
ReplyDeleteI have found your blog this week and have enjoyed looking over some back posts. I love your nursing snippets as I was in care home management for over 20 years until I gave up work to look after older parents and grandchild in 2013. We are a similar age and I lived and trained in Sheffield as a RGN.I don't wish to nurse now (health wouldn't allow it) but I do miss the old days and enjoy being reminded of them.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say I now live in Northwich and travel on the A55 into Wales, it can be a right royal pain!
