I'm Playing Nice

I've taken a great deal of pleasure in this piece of art
It's cleverness pleases me.

I pulled the previous post as several of the comments started to become accusatory and blaming in tone,
I'm in no mood for that.
All I will say is that Mary is fine and will be fine. She has been earmarked for spaying since last year, but this invasive operation has been postponed until her recurrent ear infection problem is fully resolved .
She is insured , so the cost of surgery is not a factor in my hesitation.
Her escape from the cottage was a fluke and no ones' fault

I discussed this with Trendy Carol over the garden gate this afternoon. Carol ( in a willowy purple vest and crisp white shorts) laughed as we gossiped good naturedly  about the newbee neighbours
They've had some nice bedroom furniture delivered!

It's hot again and Winnie has had one emergency cool down with a bag Of frozen peas which I have pushed gently against her sagging bosoms on the couch
I'm thinking of using a small bag of frozen tuna stakes as a head compress..or failing this a knicker cooler

Oh dear what's happened to Mary?

I could do with a cool down with a bag of frozen peas pushed gently against my person!

    2. I like the hooves/feet best, the 'receiver'. So very 'sheep'.

    3. That's the clever bit...an artist who knows their sheep

  4. Those sheep can phone the shearer themselves when it's time!

There is no dog daddy better than you, John Gray.

  6. These sheep are darn clever! Kudos to the artist.

  7. Love the sheep, made me smile; no mean feat at the moment. Sometimes sh.. just happens and it's nobody's fault. Your dogs have a fantastic life. Frozen peas mould better than tuna...and smell less!

  8. Love that art display very clever, hope it cools down a bit at least Winnie is well looked after.

  9. Missed the post. For what it's worth I would trust you at any point with animals or humans. Oh hell, that didn't come out quite right! Too hot to think right now, 37 degrees tomorrow.Cooling hugs to you and the animals. Jxx

Stellar sheep and such a clever artist.

Stay cool, one and all with fans, air con, or peas!

    Hugs to all, too!

  12. Yesterday I saw a video where the dog mom made cooling bands for her pugs out of a chamois cooling towel and Velcro. They were about $5, so possibly budget friendly and helpful for Winnie. She showed how to make it on her Instagram page @pugdashians if you are interested and want to save money on frozen peas. Or maybe just the cooling towel will work. Hugs.

  13. I like the art work. Which phone should I ring to show my appreciation?

  14. Last year during the long hot summer we found a tip that might be of use to you. We wet a towel and put it over the dog like a coat. It cooled him right down and we were sure he'd shake it off but he clearly liked how it felt as he kept it on for ages.

    1. I have seen this used on race horses. great advice you need to change it often though as they heat it up.

  15. I misread it at first - thought it was you wearing a willowy purple vest and crisp white shorts.

  16. Hmmm, I wonder if putting peas under my sagging bosoms would work? It would cut down on our utility bills. It's supposed to get to 101 degrees F here on Saturday. A damp towel may work for the critters. It worked for me when the kids were small (so was I). Now the kids own a pool and Granny's visiting this weekend!

  18. poor winnie! my winnie and willie really suffered in the heat. chows have so much hair it is tough to cool them off. we are still having a wee bit of a break from the heat and they are loving it.

  19. We got a cooling towel from Amazon and it does work better and longer than a regular wet towel you may use. Peas, though, work great.

  20. will the dogs allow you to spritz them with a spray bottle of water? we managed to buy a cooling mat. But so far it hasnt been warm enough here. My dogs get in to their paddling pool, we have one of those clam shell ones that are also a sand pit for little kids. the blow up ones can pop

    1. Mary is fine butwinnie suffers in the heat....
She usually finds a place in shade on the patio and lowers her teats onto the cool concrete

Don't you just mean Winnie lies down? "lowers her teats" how ridiculous you can be sometimes.

  21. Those sheep are awesomely clever :)

Poor little Mary, still with sore ears. A chronic illness is no fun for a pet or a pet owner.

The high temps are harder, I think, when it's a sometimes thing. Our bodies need time to adjust. And at some point, it's beyond adjustment anyway - it's just too d*** hot.

  22. we just got rid of those high temps. and those sheep - someone is VERY talented and clever!

  25. Can't you just clear the scotch egg cache out of the fridge and put Winnie in there instead?

  26. Stay cool, its been along time since I needed an ice pack in my pants. The weather is delightful here.

  30. The more I look at the sheep the more I like them. They're quite amazing.

  31. I thought they were woven wool then enlarged pic and see their coats are telephone cords! OMG this is so fabulous - such a creative person.

Now I know where to quickly defrost my frozen veggies - sagging bosoms, a sign of age for sure, sigh!!!!!

Stay cool - just heard about the European heatwave which could be dangerous.

  32. I too love the sheep, so clever. I am cooling my chickens by giving them frozen peas and sweetcorn in little dishes of water. The frozen peas soon defrost but are cold as is the water which they take along with the peas.

  33. These are magical.
I like corn or peas myself. Glad Mary is ok.

  34. That art piece is wonderful! As for the previous blog post, I saw the lead-in on my feed and when I clicked and it wasn't there I knew exactly what had happened. Smart move. And, if it matters, I KNOW you know what you're doing and are extremely responsible and caring. The shits!
