Bench

From my third floor balcony I have a lovely view of Sitges Promenade and Church
In a corner near the beach steps is a single rainbow bench
It's a favourite meeting place of couples, straight and gay.
I've watched many during my time here
Meet, kiss, laugh, and argue there

This morning the bench is empty

I go home today.

The sky is blue

  9. Those last three lines sound haiku-like. Hope it was the holiday you hoped for. Spain will miss you. It was nice knowing you were just up the coast (about 10 hours).

It's time to put the lovely thoughts of sun, sand, and Spain into your memory for later musing. Home and an joyful group of fur-babies await you at the end of the journey!

    Vaya con Dios and hugs!

  25. You probably don't know it,
but you are quite the poet.

(Yes, I know that's poor but even I have to come off my "intellectual" pedestal every so often to make room for my critics).

John, what you wrote is poetic, pensive, evocative, touching, conjuring up a vibe ... bitter and sweet. Just shows you, never judge a man by his crocs.

  27. I am sure that blue sky is an omen of better things to come. Give those four leggies a hug and they'll forgive you, especially if you have bought them an edible treat each.

  28. Lovely photo John, hope you arrive home with new and fresh memories as you start a new chapter in your life.
I would love to be a fly on the wall and see the reaction of the dogs and Albert when they see you come through the door and welcome you home.
