What Goes Around

Last year the old Flower Show Committee met for the last time in order to divide up monies to the village good causes. It was a bitter sweet meeting for sure but with me leaving the village, it was deemed time for the entire committee to resign with me, a change I was very moved by.
Now,  with the New Community Association going from strength to strength, a new Flower Show Committee has resurrected our old format and the show will go on this August!
How wonderful is that
Looking through the schedule I was rather moved to see that I have had a trophy named after me!
Thank you , it was a lovely surprise!

I'm typing this on my phone
another day
another early morning vet visit!
what goes around!

  5. How wonderful that a cup has been named after you. But couldn't it have been for a nice floral display rather than a basket of vegetables?

    1. YP, that's not like you putting a dampener on John's claim to future fame. Unless you are a donkey in which case you will eat flowers (even thistles) I'd rather have a basket of lush vegetables any day.

      High five,
      U

    2. I'm worried about soiling myself if I laugh too hard.

    3. Oh then you had better stop laughing now. We don't want to cause any trouble in the garden do we?

A wonderful tribute to you, which shows how much you were valued as a committee member and friend. With the cup coming out every year you will live on forever and stories will be told of your contributions to newcomers. Well deserved John, I am pleased for you.

  15. I've just got my schedule for the show I enter.

You will never be forgotten in Trelawnyd now although in 30 years time people will be wondering what you did to get a cup named after you and someone will remember the photo competition and say "Oh THAT John Gray!"

  21. At least you and Mary won't have had a long wait considering the waiting room appears empty.

Still, my heart bleeds for you as I know, to my cost, that coming out of the vet's will leave your wallet considerably lighter than when you walked in. Having one of my cats put down cost me a cool £80.00 (ca. 2010).

  25. That's quite an honor - Congratulations, John!! To know you've been that appreciated is pretty darn heartwarming. Come to think of it, your path through this life is strewn with good deeds and kindnesses above and beyond...

  26. You must be right chuffed to see your name going down in posterity, and quite rightly so. I think you'll leave an indelible mark wherever you go - though emphatically NOT in the way some animals do.

  27. Absolutely fitting ..... The John Gray Cup!

  36. It's so heartwarming that the Flower Show will be carried on, and even more so that there will be a trophy honouring your past contributions. You've made a difference in people's lives.

I hope poor Mary's ears soon take a turn for the better. It's hard on the head to have a chronically ill pet, and you don't need that right now.

  37. I’ve always found looking for a job and a place to live at the same time was the worst of the worst stresswise. Hugs for you.
A trophy in your honor can offset the stress for a moment or two.
We have 5 dogs and I can identify with thethe vet bills. I was there yesterday and now have to schedule a procedure that will costeven more.
What is wrong with Mary’s ears?
