I remember that story as well: I replied that I couldn't understand a smell in the living room and after investigation found a half eaten rabbit (disembowelled) behind the sofa - the guilty terrier gave me a look of contempt and wandered out into the garden.
Stepping on one in bare feet would have freaked me out as well. The sound of my old cat crunching the bones of a frog will stay with me for ever as it is.
Eeewww....
ReplyDeleteIt made me laugh when I re read it
DeleteAnd me!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of when I stepped out of back door on to one (a frog not a bulldog). Sheer involuntary shuddering scream of horror.
ReplyDeleteI remember that post. Is it really a year? Time passes so quickly. It really made me laugh at the time. Hope you had a lovely birthday John.x
ReplyDeleteI remember this. I would have to lie down in a dark room after this as well. Wow, it doesn't seem a year.
ReplyDeleteI have dreams like that too.
ReplyDeleteReally wasn't the frog's night, was it?

ReplyDeletePithy.
ReplyDeleteYuk and double yuk! Remember it well.
ReplyDeleteYuck, that was scream worthy. I scream when I step barefoot on a three-inch slug at night.
ReplyDeleteOh, ick and double ICK plus a shudder! I, too, remember it and am just as put off by the account as I was then. I'm glad it's not time for dinner!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
i don't think i would want to be around when that frog comes out the other end.
