Baby Mary
I got back after a crappy Sams shift at 02.00 am last night and as I drove down by the church I saw a skinny fox figure standing shivering by old Trevor's driveway
It wasnt a fox however but a
rather traumatised Mary who had someway got through Alberts catflap when I was out.
She cried like a baby when I picked her up and held her close
And as I type this she is lying Meg-like just under my chin.
I love that little dog
Hey ho
Poor Mary! Glad you rescued her and she wasn't out all night.
ReplyDeletePoor Mary. Lucky that you came home and saw her before she wandered further.
ReplyDeleteGlad she's okay, a hopefully she's learned a lesson! =)
ReplyDeleteAwe poor Mary love goes both ways John they pull at out heartstrings don't they she's not going to let you out of her sight today.
ReplyDeleteGlad she was safe, but I bet she'll try it again! Kids....
ReplyDeleteAwww
ReplyDeleteThis gave me the feels!
And that photo is devastatingly adorable.
XoXo
How fortunate for you to have seen her there and how relieved and happy she'll have been. But will the dear little girl have learned her lesson? One can only hope.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful you found Mary and brought her safely home again. Wish she'd learn to go back inside through Albert's flap if she insists on going out.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of you and baby Mary is adorable.
Hugs!
I hope she's OK. Thank goodness you found her when you did. Would a microchip catflap be a possibility? X
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found her and she didn't stay out all night. I love that picture of you and Baby Mary!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you spotted her! I bet your heart stopped for a moment. I love that picture of Mary and the handsome lad.
ReplyDeleteSusan,I agree that is a lovely photo!.Mary is adorable and the hunky handsome bloke holding her isnt bad either!!xx
DeleteOh, what a gorgeous baby photo! Mary just loves you to bits. How lucky was she that you saw her?
ReplyDeleteLittle monkey! Good thing she didn't wander too far away.
ReplyDeleteGlad Mary is safe she loves you too. Sorry about your Sams shift if it helps I am grateful for you guys during my rock bottom days I rang this lifeline.Hugs all round maybe meatballs all round if you think it's safe! x
ReplyDeletePoor girl. She must have got a fright.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor thing!! She was probably so scared and alone. It was meant for you to find her after your crappy shift so you can share and we can all be reminded of the unconditional love of our pets....hugs to you both!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness she is safe.
ReplyDeletePoor little Mary, glad you found her. You both needed a cuddle xx
ReplyDelete*Sharp intake of breath* So glad you spotted her. Lots of hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteSo pleased that she hadn't gone far and that you saw her ( before you got home and found her gone...that would have been even worse! )Litter tray for Albert and closed cat flap when you aren't there maybe?
ReplyDeleteWho took that photo?
ReplyDeletemy husband did
DeleteTom...it's an old photo!
DeleteLovely photo! You look so butch!
ReplyDeleteCaxton got lost in the woods one day... when I found him and picked him up he peed all down me with joy... (in case you're wondering - Caxton is a Jack Russell).
Oh no! So glad she's safe x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad she had the sense not to go too far.
ReplyDeleteGosh what a shock at that time of the morning! She was a clever girl to stand and wait for you though. 🙂Hopefully that was enough of a scare to stop her doing it again.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you say a while ago that she'd got out through the cat flap? Perhaps it's time to have a locking catflap with a chipped collar for your cat or a locked catflap and a litter tray.
ReplyDeleteYou're just so very lucky you have got her back. Poor little traumatised dog. Please make sure that can't happen again.
Poor girl - I'm glad there was a happy ending. She'll probably be sticking close to you for awhile.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got home when you did. What a sweetheart. (Mary, too.)
ReplyDeleteThat photo is adorable. I am so glad you found Mary and that she is safe at home with you.
ReplyDeleteAwww! A sad dog is the very saddest thing
ReplyDeleteFrightening for two,
ReplyDeleteOh John - how you need one another.
ReplyDeleteyou will have to fatten her up so she can't get thru that flap again! poor little thing. Shame she can't come with you to your Sams nights.
ReplyDeleteYears ago my 16 year old blind/deaf dog managed to escape from the garden. TWO weeks later I get a phone call from a Police Station twenty odd miles away!!
ReplyDeleteBloody thing, well when I picked him up he was quite unresponsive. I picked him up and put his head on my shoulder. While filing out the paperwork, he started sniffing my hair and then started screaming and peed al down my front, didn't stop screaming and crying for quite a while. Good job I loved him
Sweet girl. I can't imagine life without a dog.
ReplyDeleteomg...poor mary! i'm so happy you found her. she must have been so frightened and then so relieved to see you.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad she ended up safe and sound where she belongs.
ReplyDeleteThis just breaks my heart. That poor little love.
ReplyDeleteOh, bless her sweet puppy heart,
ReplyDeleteHold tIght.
C
Poor little Mary glad she's ok x
ReplyDeletePoor little Mary, so happy you found her.
ReplyDeleteAwww little Mary, I am glad you found her. Poor thing.
ReplyDeleteMiss Fifi
How frightening for her. I am glad she is safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteAwww, poor Mary! Bet she won't do THAT again.
ReplyDeleteUnless John secures the cat flap of course she'll do it again! She loves him so obviously she'll get out to follow him if she can. Sadly next time it could be her corpse on the road he finds.
DeleteWay to sweeten it Helen!
DeleteJo in Auckland
There's nothing wrong in saying it how it is!
DeleteSometimes it needs the truth to hammer it home! Mary has been out through the cat flap before. That truth is that unless the cat flap is secured then the next time she could get run over. Which would you rather have - John with Mary to love or John grieving over his dead dog?
My cat went missing and was found a week later about 3 miles away.We went to pick him up and he couldn't stop purring for days afte we got him home.
