I've never really watched or have been a fan of Games Of Thrones
But the build up to the climactic battle at Winterfell made for an interesting watch tonight and was a fair substitute to zombie Mondays .
I say this especially as the statuesque Valkyrie Brianne of Tarth was unexpectedly made a knight in an incredibly moving scene before the whitewalkers arrive
I cried buckets as she bent the knee
Sex I maybe able to comment upon, G.O.T? Not in a million years, except to add that I know a real life Tyrion.
ReplyDeleteHave not watched. Don't have cable (or HBO) so I have no idea of the whole GOT thing.... What I've heard though, it's that the world setup is very cool and the production is top notch.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of nudity and gore, so yeah.
XOXO
Very hetero normal
DeleteBut Brianne was a bit lesbian enough to be supported
All the sexually fluid/queer characters were killed off, alas.
DeleteYara Greyjoy is still around and Lord Varys - if one's tastes are so inclined...
DeleteFeeling left out as I don't have HBO, refuse to pay for a streaming service and otherwise would watch. Hoping, now this is the last season, will replay on a channel I do have.
ReplyDeleteI love Brienne of Tarth and her whole back story with Ser Jamie made that scene especially poignant. You should binge watch the whole series, John. There is plenty of zombie action with the White Walkers to keep any Walking Dead fan entertained!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought you would love this series if you watched from the beginning. I mean really, if you like zombies you're going to love a zombie dragon!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch although I am interested. I have seen a few here and there. Love the old opening I read were they have a new one now.
ReplyDeleteI also read this was the first time she smiled. Maybe I will watch it this summer.
cheers, parsnip
I/We read the books and we waited for the last book never watching any of the series until last year we binge watched all seven seasons. we have to wait til 8 comes out publicly. in the meantime I'm watching and reading every 'spoiler'. thanks for this one.
ReplyDeleteWatched it from the beginning. Rewatched to prepare for seasons 6,7 and 8. So have watched it at least four times and see something new each time.
ReplyDeleteStill catching up with posts. Good Luck with the valuation.
ReplyDeleteI watched the first season of Game of Thrones, just to see what it was all about, but it never really caught on with me.
ReplyDeleteWe didn’t watch Game of Thrones until all the seasons were completed. We were surprised how much we loved it. Holding off on this season until it’s complete and we can binge watch.
ReplyDeleteI read the books, as far as they went. Then the author was distracted by the tv show and totally blew off his reading public. I don't have the expensive cable and have no interest in watching the show. If that chump writes the rest of the series I may read to the conclusion.
ReplyDeleteBah!
(Brienne of Tarth was one of my favorite characters, in part because she was the closest thing to a lesbian...)
George watches it; I don't...shame on me.
ReplyDeleteI am a GOT junkie and even have a separate blog about it and medieval cooking. https://feastsoficeandfire.wordpress.com/2019/04/22/the-cooks-tale-part-2/. I love Browne of Tarth and was moved by her knighting ceremony as well.
ReplyDeleteI too am a GOT fan, watched it since it started. Best show ever.
