But It's NOT Art!

It's a textured painting too!

My elder Sister and I went to a sort of workshop on painting with acrylics this afternoon
I just sat there like a Chimpanzee with a brush and trowel and bashed away in silence
I quite enjoyed playing.
My sister brought me a scotch egg to have at tea break

  2. Well, if that's your finished product (as opposed to a stock photo) I do love the colours. It's good to try new stuff. The process alone is worth it, and one never knows where it might lead.

  4. I recall a painting being sold for over $700 some years back that was actually painted by a chimpanzee with a brush. So who knows.

  5. I would stick to gardening with the trowel.

  6. As long as the process was enjoyed...

  7. It looks very nice. I think portraits are out of your league right now, though Winnie would be a good study.

  8. Thank goodness!!! The little thumbnail picture in my reader... I couldn't make it out....thank goodness it wasn't a skid mark.

  10. I think it is really good, bold and colourful. You might have discovered a hidden talent.

  11. Those elephant-made paintings go for quite a bit, so I'd think your chimpanzee art should be worth something. At least a second Scotch egg, for sure.

If it's done with heart, it's art! I quite like it, too, as the colors and pattern are pleasing.

Nice sister to come to play and paint with you - and to bring you the Scotch egg.

    Hugs!

Oh, Cro's comment reminded me of a cloth on which my Dad cleaned many, many paint brushes. He flattened the cloth one day and labeled it "Soul of a Dying Fish". Go figure.

  19. If you enjoyed the day then really that's all that matters but I do love the colours and I have synesthesia.
I hope you enjoy your weekend with Nu it's the tonic you need and where there is tonic there could be gin. I am sorry for poor Mary with her troublesome ear I send her a cuddle.

  21. Ah John but it is Art as it is created from your soul. Crafting of any sort is very therapeutic. Love the colours x

  22. Sounds like a good afternoon out with your sister. I think even Michelangelos 1st attempt was a bit basic too.

  23. More John Bollocks than Jackson Pollock, but still quite pleasing to view. Maybe you are a talented ape?

How good for your sister to be looking after you and taking you to a painting class.

  27. Who says it's not art? Art is subjective. Put it in a frame and hang on the wall and then you have some wall art. :)

  28. I like it. You have a hidden talent for modern art!

  29. I love it ♥️

It's you, on canvas. Hurting at the moment, with dashes of clarity breaking through and sunshine snapping at your heels as it catches up with you and illuminates your life.

  31. I could happily live with that on my wall, John -the colours are absolutely lovely and I agree with Mitchell above - it is definitely art - don't do yourself down.
