Gorgeous picture. I find the best thing to do is to wrap up and go out with the dogs, then even if it is cooler in the house after being out in the snow it seems much warmer when you first get back in. I hope you have a good supply of logs, a log burner is invaluable in this weather
We're expecting -25C for tomorrow night's low. It's snowing right now and 17F. I volunteer at our Good Samaritan thrift store today and the back room is cold! But you have had no power for a while it seems, so I'm counting my blessings.
Apparently last night was just a taster for what's expected tonight - at least that's what we on the south east coast are being told. Just a 'warm-up' one might have said in other circs.
The cards are getting better and better!!! I hope your power is back on. When it's off, can you draw water? We have a well powered by electricity, so no power, no water for us. Hoping that's not your situation! Stay safe and warm...
I adore all the postcards you are receiving. I mailed mine yesterday, I hope it makes it! Will you eventually make a collage or frame some and switch them out over time? A nice rotating art collection. I am so done with this freezing weather. Was nasty here in New Jersey this past weekend. Supposed to warm up over next few days with rain. Will be nice when sunny again. :)
Last year we lost power on one of the colder days (-30ish F) just as my aged Christmas cactus decided to bloom, needless to say it didn't... We're doing ok so far this year and the darling plant has had another go, yippee. You are going to need a whole shoe box for you sudden and substantial collection of postcards!
Carpe scrotum, LOL! And I love the cows by St Michael's Tower on top of Glastonbury Tor. The day we climbed up, there were cows too. Had to dodge the cow patties!
At least the freezer contents won't defrost!
ReplyDeleteIt's as cold as a witch's tit on the Wirral this morning, I'm hibernating until it thaws a bit!

ReplyDeleteNice picture. The light on the church is splendid.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Hope you get it back soon. xx
ReplyDeleteIs that snow or frost? We had a frost on the hills this morning which looked like snow.
ReplyDeleteHi John... just wondering if I am able to connect with you via FB... do you have a public page??
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland
That's pretty. Have you got a log fire to keep warm?
ReplyDeleteLovely picture! Is your electric off? - if so hope you can keep warm .

Is the whole village off? I do hope the vulnerable are ok.
ReplyDeleteYou keep warm and cosy, I'm sure your furry house mates will be able to assist with this!
Oh no. This is not weather conducive to being without power! Hopefully a log warmer is handy? Bundle up!
ReplyDeleteXoXo
P.S. that photo is pretty, tho.
It is a pretty photo, but that ain't gonna warm anybody up.
ReplyDeleteI'd wrap a dog around my feet.
Snowdrops??!! You lucky fellow!!

ReplyDeleteThis Florida girl would be in full panic mode. I hope you get your power back on soon.
ReplyDeleteYou had better find your thermal underwear until they sort the electric
ReplyDeleteI've decided I want to spend a winter in the UK sometime before I die - it seems a magical place where flowers bloom in the snow.
ReplyDeleteBring plenty of warm jumpers and thermal knickers. It's blimmin freezing... but my garden does look pretty
DeleteWill do on the warm jumpers - but I'm guessing I can leave my -30F rated parka and snowmobile boots at home. That's jealousy, not snarkiness talking.
DeleteYou can also ditch your bikini. I must add that we are not a nation of nudists.

ReplyDeleteHow lucky are you to be in receipt of a Valentines card?!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to ignore the instruction to seize your ball sac unless you are at home/in private.
Lovely snowdrops and still more delightful postcards. How many card have arrived so far?
ReplyDeleteHope the fire is keeping your home warm enough.
Hugs!
The cards are getting better and better!!!

ReplyDeletePS If you get off the shoveled path hereabouts you're up to your crotch in snow ...
DeleteI hope you get power back soon. We don't realize how we depend on it until it's gone.
ReplyDeleteYou will tell us how many you get in the end won't you?
ReplyDeleteVariety is the spice of life! What a collection you are acquiring, John.
ReplyDeleteSaucy Brighton? I bet that is from Crafty Cat's Corner and that woman on the card is Briony herself! lol
ReplyDeleteLove the Carpe Scrotum card!
ReplyDeleteI have very fond memories of that wooly mammoth in the Royal BC Museum!
ReplyDeleteCarpe scrotum! I LOVE that! (and the snowdrops)
