"Ipswich in a blizzard" is laugh-out-loud brilliant. Simple, stylish, elegant.

  3. Love to know who sent the Ipswich one, there must be one other person in Suffolk who reads you!

  7. I'm loving the diversity of these cards. Who even knew there were so many different styles of postcards. I'm going to be looking around everywhere I go for postcards in future after this.

    Delightful, one and all.

When I was a child, my Dad showed me a white piece of paper and called it a polar bear going north in a blizzard. Loved the Ipswich card!

    Hugs!

  13. I was going for the Ipswich card but everyone beat me to it. I also liked the chicken although it was rather posed. My photos of me with my chickens don't look like that!

  14. I wish I realized what a big deal this was going to be (how could I NOT have realized?!?) I might have spent more time shopping for a card!

  18. Hmmm . . . those dishtowels in the background look familiar! A blogger gift, perhaps? I have a set that look just like them, courtesy of Joanne :)

The postcards are so varied. I'm rather astonished, as all ours look pretty similar to each other. I suppose they are supplied by the same company in our region. I am looking hard for a good one!

  19. Another brilliant selection of cards. I had a look in Harpenden for a card this morning, and the only ones I found were 3 of various pubs in the town! Very boring. I shall persevere though !

  22. I used to love those Bamford cartoons. I once sent one and they said they'd used it but I don't believe they did. I never got any money anyway. It was a about Idi Amin.

I always remember one of a doctor with a stethoscope and a buxom girl.
    Doc: Big breaths.
Girl: Yeth, and I'm only Thicksteen.

Corny but they had some rib ticklers and had me glued. I'd read everyone from one end of the prom to the other if I was in a seaside resort in my formative years.

  24. There is a group called Postcrossing.com my aunt is involved in that she really enjoys. After you register, You are given an address to send a post card to and you receive one from someone else. You participate as you desire. No money exchanged , Just postcards. She has received cards from all over the world and looks forward to the mail every day. So I guess postcards are not a thing of the past.
