Post Op Care

With a massive bloody hole in her ear and very groggy indeed mary arrived home feeling very sorry for herself. William and George gave her a perfunctory once over like most men do over a sick wife leaving Winnie to do the concerned-nurse-at-the-bedside thing. The old girl has a remarkably big heart for the underdog and is presently lying next to a fretting pup.
A few of Libby's cocktail sausages were accepted politely and I turned the lights down around the cottage as The Archers started so everyone could start to be quiet and rested.
Thanks to everyone for their best wishes, and to Marilyn for her doggie gift.

  13. I wonder if Winnie sees Mary as her baby - she did allow a lot of ear chewing when Mary was younger. Thank you for letting us know about Mary; it's been on my mind since this morning. I hope the healing process goes smoothly. Having two nurses in attendance should help :)

  41. Bless her cotton socks. Thank goodness for Nurse Winnie trying to restore normality for Mary. Bet its been a right shock for the poor lass. I hope the operation has been a success for her as much as you. Blasted collars get in the way though, although I know they are a necessary evil but I think it stresses them out more. Take care all xx

  52. We will hope for a full recovery for Mary and Winnie is a sensitive soul. Winnie looks good and I hope the effects of her stroke are fading. Several years ago, our dog stroked and we rushed him to the after hours vet. He suggested we put him down and now seeing Winnie, I wonder if we were indeed too hasty.

    1. Lovely to hear that she's back home and that Winnie is supervising her nursing. I hope she feels better soon.

I'm impressed that you are able to get her to take drugs hidden in food. My dog doesn't fall for that trick. She insists on sending everything you offer her (even tasty treats) to the doggy equivalent of a forensic lab before she will deign to touch it. She's a rescue dog and I often wonder what happened to her to make her so deeply suspicious of everything. We've had her for seven years now, so you would think she had learned to trust us by now. Whatever goes on in that little furry skull?
